First of all it took half an hour total from arriving there to leaving and we still had a disappointing experience. When we finally got to make our order in the drive thru, you could tell the person taking our order was extremely rude and not interested in being there. Directly after each item was said, no pause, we were met with "Anything else?". They sounded annoyed that we were even ordering as it was just extremely blunt. After we made our order we were then told that there were no wicked wings, that in itself is fine as they had a sign saying there was a mix up, so we decided to get tenders in place of the wings. When we finally got to the window to pay and take our food the young girl took our money, proceeded to talk to whoever out the back in the kitchen and then someone else walks up to the window to let us know that there were no chicken tenders left either. Now that made up a majority of our order. We were told that it was going to be a 6 minute wait and they tried offering us original recipe chicken which we didn't want. We were happy to wait and we were again reassured that it'll be 6 minutes. It took someone 15-20 minutes to come out to us with our food and the workers didn't even apologise, were too busy laughing and talking to each other. As soon as we left we saw a car who was directly in front of us in drive thru still waiting on their order that they made online. Got home and everyone that opened up their boxed meals were disappointed to have only ONE tiny tender in replace of three wicked wings. I don't expect much but I expected a lot more than I...
Read moreWe come to Ararat once a year to get a break from the big city and enjoy the finest chicken in Australia. We drive hours to get our fix. However, yesterday I was appalled and incredibly disappointed with the service, quality and management coming out of this Kentucky Fried Chicken.
We ordered 20 wicked wings to go, and the man took our order and money and kindly asked us to wait over there until it was ready.
Time went by, after a laugh or two, and our order was up. We were buzzing at the thought of having those tenders wings around our lips. Though there was an issue.
We were told we could only have 10 wings because they had simply run out of wings. We ordered 20 wings, we wanted 20 wings. If we wanted 10 wings we would’ve just ordered 10 wings. But we were offered 10 wings.
Anyway wings aside - the ‘manager’, with the rose tattoos, told us our only option was too either swap our 10 wings missing to 10 original recipe, but we wanted wings. So we had no option but ask for a refund - we on a tight schedule hence why went to a fast food restaurant.
We couldn’t receive our refund because we used Apple Pay - as far I’m concerned, as a restaurant owner myself, maybe upgrade your eftpos system to give customers a better experience. Either that, or get more wings.
All we got from this was a cash refund and a hole in our unsatisfied stomach.
We’ll be going to...
Read moreComing Home through Ararat after a great camping trip, we stopped here (couldn't use drive through, camper too long) and There was a great big sign on the front glass saying "we're open"! We walked past a young bloke in a kfc uniform toward the front door, but the door wouldn't open. Did the whole "door won't open dance" (you know the one...2 steps forward, 2 steps back, forward, back want your arms like an idiot😂) before realising that a sign on the door said they had closed, except for people using the app .. Wait... What? It was a covid measure, apparently, where to reduce the impact on short staffing (which I totally get) they close the front door... We didn't have the app, and probably looked all confused, until the door was opened for the manager to explain to us why they shut. I asked her "instead of explaining this to me here, can I just give you my order instead?" (I thought it would probably take the same amount of time🤷)...I don't think I was rude or abrupt (I get how much these workers have to go through) so her ride reaction was pretty uncalled for. Anywhooo, that was our experience at the Ararat KFC. Gonna have to be Maccas...
