Desi Swag — Restaurant in Victoria

Fellow who answered phone was very rude and abrupt. Four dishes I requested were met with the response " we don't have that" even though they were listed on their menu. (That's their takeaway menu they'd photographed for the Google maps listing.) He could've been much more polite about saying the dishes were unavailable or that they no longer made them. But no...it was rudely "we don't have that" and the more dishes I asked for that they didn't have, the angrier he got. Unfortunately this is the only Indian in town so I persevered. Butter chicken was OK, vindaloo ok, little lacking in flavour, naans were small, greasy and too thin. Which makes the $3.50 a piece price a bit high. Bhajis were good.... different than I've ever had but interesting. Two star rating is purely due to the rude man who answered the phone. I know that tonnes of people have given five stars but I suspect it's because it's the only Indian in town. Travelling down the east coast I've tried MANY different Indian places and there are far far superior places elsewhere. Trying them, at most you'd give this place a 3....that's if the rude man doesn't answer...

Was expecting an unreal dinner from the previous reviews, however was very disappointed. Entreè chicken was cold to start off with and the mint sauce reminded me of water that had been left in the fridge next to actual mint sauce. Ordered coconut chicken and butter chicken which took quite a long time to arrive at the table. Coconut chicken was horrible. Not a hint of coconut and had the worst after-taste. Butter chicken was fine but definitely not the best I've had. The person serving us had his son running around the restaurant, jumping aggressively on the chairs next to us. He then had to chase him under the table and drag him out to get him to stop. The kid then proceeded to watch what sounded like Kim Possible on maximum volume the whole time we were eating. We went there today (30/9/2023) for dinner with a lot of anticipation and excitement as this is the only Indian restaurant in the near vicinity. The first we find is that it’s NOT an Indian restaurant, it’s a pakistani restaurant run my only two paki dudes. Everything is in chaos as the same guy (abid or adil) is attending the reception, taking orders, serving, cleaning, and billing. Perfect recipe for a disaster. Moreover our food which arrived very late and was ordered as medium spicy was extreme hot and inedible. Even after raising the concern, he just walked away. All our food was wasted. When paying when we again raised this concern, he simply asked paying by card or cash!!! How unprofessional!! Moreover I could see other customer struggle with their orders and spice level as...
