We knew it only had 3.5 stars but the reviews looked ok, so we made the decision to give it a try. Now I'm thinking the reviews are just friends and family. We were greeted at the door and seated right next to the kids play zone. I said the noise was no problem as I'm fine with kids, but now I suspect we were just shoved out of sight. They said they were busy but there were at least 5 or 6 staff to maybe 50 or 60 patrons. One staff member was polishing cutlery while we were sitting right in front of him for a considerable time with no drinks, and menus placed as if we were clearly ready to order. Thinking perhaps he was not a waiter we tried to catch the attention of other staff, one of whom looked right at me but walked away as I put my hand up to try to call her over. Eventually got the attention of a waitress but we were informed by cutlery guy that someone would be with us in a minute. He was clearly annoyed that we were apparently being impatient. Then he came and took our order, barely audible, no smile, basically couldn't have been less interested. But we saw him several times chatting and laughing with other customers so I asked him if perhaps we'd arrived too late. It was only 7:15 on a friday night but it seemed all the staff were ready to clock off rather than serve us with any enthusiasm. No check in to see if we were liking our meal. No offer of another drink. I've worked in the industry for a very long time so perhaps my expectations are too high. Customers don't care how long your shift has been. They don't care if you've had a bad day. Customers are paying for the privilege of being able to be a bit selfish in expecting to be served by someone who cares about their needs. The young waitress who served us our food was delightful and cheerful. We would have purchased more drinks and dessert if we'd been attended to. The food itself was delicious but unfortunately we only return to places that make us...
Read moreI used to love coming to La Porchetta. Went for dinner with my family last night and it was horrific. I ordered the Pollo E Avocado and a bowl of chips. The chips never came. And the pasta was disgusting. Filled with precooked frozen chicken that was reheated to go with the meal. It tasted foul. My siblings also tasted it and agreed. I tried picking out all the chicken but the taste was through the whole thing. I sent it back only for one of our servers to come up to ask who returned it. I explained that I did because the chicken tasted off and she then proceeded to tell us that she had tasted it and it tasted exactly as it should for frozen chicken. I was then offered an alternative meal but merely requesting the chips I'd originally ordered but had not come. When they finally arrived it was clear that they were cooked in a rush, as half of some of the chips were uncooked and still frozen. All and all, it was a major letdown, waste of money and I will no longer be...
Read moreFood is amazing but DO NOT USE THE ONLINE ORDER SYSTEM, first time I used it I was charged twice and had to call the hungry hungry online service and chase up my own refund, they were very apologetic but had me on hold for 20 minutes to call the store and confirm that I had only picked up x1 order. It was very inconvenient. It also took 3 days to return the money to my account. Another time when the app confirms for me to pick up order at 6:15pm from the venue the staff hadn't checked the orders and hadn't prepared the food when I arrived at that time. Now recently I had made an online order that was excepted and allocated pickup time the venue was CLOSED for private functions and the kitchen was actually not running orders, the lady said the payment would get declined but after 3 days pending I was charged for the purchase and the online service fees. Maybe just call the store or go into the store to purchase takeout. I definitely won't be ordering...
