Long review incoming!
Neilsons Kitchen/Little prince catered our wedding and I cannot speak highly enough about this wonderful crew and the magic that they whip up in the kitchen.
Our guests continuously told us how incredible the food was and that there was an abundance of it (if you're anything like us, this is always the number 1 concern).
Our guests with dietary concerns and the children were looked after with lovely individually boxed meals that were well thought out, rather than the usual 'after thought' that you normally see. It made these guests feel special!
The beautiful staff gave me a little poke every now and then, reminding me that "The bride has to eat too!!" which I admittedly forgot while I was connecting with family and friends.
Even more amazingly, the team committed to delivering wonderful service despite getting rained on... we felt absolutely terrible that the crew were getting wet and offered to move their marquee to keep them nice and dry, but they committed to keep moving food out to our guests and didn't want to disrupt service.
I really cannot recommend these guys enough... Beautiful and intentional food Kind, reliable and thoughtful staff Easy communication/booking process
Literally what more could you ask for?
Team, you made our day so incredibly special and we are so...
Read moreArriving on a cold night, the cosy space presented well, minus an open fire, sadly unlit. The menu was not overly filled and a good system of course selection or the chefs choice. Cocktails were pricey, however a full glass and well balanced. Entrees' pasta dish was a highlight, wonderful balance of flavour and silky soft pasta with dressings complimenting. Oysters were fresh and tasty. Scallops were a fail, though, overcooked with little redeeming quality in the sauce. Kangaroo tartare was overpowered by beet chips and was ordinary but edible.
Mains were sadly very disappointing, lamb was flavoured. However, complete lack of texture made the dish very average. Went back half eaten. Pork schnitzel was sadly overcooked, and the sauces and accompanying trimmings were poorly balanced. Went back half eaten.
However, dessert was an improvement. Highly recommend the souflee with a great balance and rich chocolate sauce and an outstanding icecream to go with.
For a $200 meal, pretty dissapointing to return mains and entrees were very average. Staff were appologetic and offering alternatives, compensated with additional cocktails, however sadly, over all a...
Read moreDO NOT trust for celiac safe food, or any serious allergies. I messaged the restaurant prior to going as I require strictly gluten free meals & they assured me they had a seperate fryer hence no contamination & also a gluten free menu adapted from the main menu. I ordered the tasting menu, specifically speaking to our server of my allergen restrictions. We ended up getting 3 different young servers throughout the night, and luckily as they brought out food I confirmed each time it was gluten free, as they gave me normal gluten items from the menu! Really disappointed and unsafe practices. The food was ok, not great, personally I cook better meals at home, and the food was more of a heavy winter menu during summer (eg soup, ragu type pasta, breads & dips, apple pie). Very strange to eat such food in the heat of 30 degree summer (we didn’t what was going to be on the 6 course tasting menu when we ordered it as was chosen by the chef on the night). Also I messaged the restaurant afterwards to let them know what had happened and that perhaps their staff required more training on allergens, and got not...
