Unfortunately, I found my ecent experience underwhelming. When I ordered a specific wine, I was offered one from a different winemaker and different region. I was told that they were "using this one" (it was already open). I had to insist that I be brought the wine I had ordered. I wasn't given new cutlery for my second dish and had to ask for it. I was continually addressed as "mate" by the head waiter while the other waiter (in training, I noticed) went out of his way to ask me if I wanted anything more to drink when my glass was clearly still half-full. When I said that I'd like to wait at least 15 minutes between courses, the head waiter came to my table agter only 10 minutes (and stood almost behind me) to ask if they could serve my second course.

The apple pie was nice enough, although it was more of a strudel.
It's such a shame, because the place had so...

Recently taken over by a very experienced hospitality specialist/chef-caterer and complimented by exceptional, friendly staff. Meals that are beautifully served, in a timely manner for both in-house dining/full table service or takeaway; special desserts not on menu, explained by the waiting staff. Good selection of wines, complimented by an expansive vintage cellar. Well worth the drive out of town. Open Wednesday-Sunday for lunch and dinner - would highly recommend for weekend getaway or just (like us) an afternoon drive. First impressions always hard to break -...
