Came as a group of 6 for Mother's Day. Was aware of the set menu. Got there at 12 as per our booking. Were sat down quickly but arrived in 3 separate groups before the full group was seated there were already bringing out the aet menu entree even though we mentioned we were still waiting on one other. Entree was taking back and once the last person was seated brought back. Then time for the main meals, 5 steaks ordered 2 well done and 3 rare and a barramundi. We were advised that the well done steaks would be charcoaled tough. Well done steaks arrived first, one missing the gravy, with thr barramundi the 3 rare following few minutes behind, they were drenched in Garlic sauce and did not appear to be Scotch Fillets are written on the menu. The barramundi was not eaten as it had an unusual taste, 2 steaks were only half eaten, and on all of the plates with garlic sauce vegetables remaining as they were inedible. Desserts were ok the chocolate sauce with the choc caramel pudding overwhelmed the actual pudding.
The staff were over attentive asking if things were ok while people were mid bite, staff disregarded responses to how the meals were. Staff also cleaned the table re as ching over people and then brought the bill over giving us the impression they wanted us out. We were there for maybe 1.5 hours and if not prompted to leave my have stayed to have a coffee or drink from the bar.
Will not be back. Please don't respond with a comment about not mentioning to staff because it was mentioned to them with bo response. The limited menu at $50 a head was grossly overpriced.
Edited to comment on response from management The waiter who brought out the entree was told that we were waiting on one more, still proceeded to bring the entree out and we told him to take it back as we were waiting on one more again. The offer of a replacement of the barramundi is great for the person who had that but the question wasn't really posed to the others. In regards to the 2 checks on the meal they were within a minute of each other and we hadn't had a chance to actually try all the food. Work on your customer service because we all felt that you rushed us out so clearly your approach is poor in regards to this. You will always respond that it's on us and that you couldn't have done better. I looked at your responses to other people who have given you bad reviews and knew your response would be that its our fault. Given there are so many other choices of places to eat we just wont come back and will tell our friends to go elsewhere and I will leave an honest review of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've read some of the negative reviews here. I will say, we have eaten at some pretty atrocious eateries here in Warragul. Almost gave up. Decided to eat here and can't wait to go back next week. The staff were lovely and friendly. The Rissotto was piping hot and delicious. The people around us were saying their meals were good. I am a Customer Service Manager myself and do expect a lot. We left full and very pleased. Couldn't fit desert in unfortunately maybe next week! Please, please, please keep up the good work. I would love to think that after 5 years of living here in Warragul, we now have our regular dine in eatery.š Ok, we've gone back last night and wow, we had the Spicy prawn spagetti. It was delicious, piping hot and we could not have been happier. We had a lovely garden side salad and l have to say that Spagetti dish is simply devine. Almost every other meal that came out, we found each other saying, l want to try that next time. Pleasant staff, very attentive.Well done guys, loving it! Still 5 stars from us.š
Sorry guy's you slipped from the 5 stars.š¤ We booked our table as usual. Hubby had to cough to get bartenders attention, oh, she's not the bartender, she will have to go and find her. Bartender comes back and serves up the drinks. She smiles, that's it. Ordered our rissotto it was brought out with a spoon and was barely warm, my husband was starving so ate his but l had actual cold parts in mine, so asked the waitress if it could be heated up. No apoligies, nothing, just took it, came back and said yours, will be a few minutes. I told her we had to take serviettes, knives and forks from the table opposite because we had none, she looked at the other table and said ok. Ok? šYou have a table booked 5-6 hours in advance but no knives, forks or serviettes and we have to get up and take them off another set table and that's just ok? š10 mins later my rissottos back out, hubbies finished his, the chicken is like leather on top and it was dissapointing to say the least. The waitress ignores hubbies empty bowl on the table even though she looks at it. Next waitress, looks at it and keeps walking. It turned into a busy night but when we arrived at 5.45pm there were only a few there. 10% per cent surcharge as well. Suprise! Happy Australia Day! šWhat happened?𤨠Just an an off...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy fiance and I go out for breakfast every Sunday. We wanted to try somewhere new and decided on Newmason. Our first impression was great. It is very open and spacious which is great and give the premises a luxurious feel even with a number of TV's showing various sporting events. I loved the blend of smart restaurant/ sports bar. We were quickly seated and the waitress explained where we needed to order and pay for our meals. The wait staff were friendly and courteous, always a good sign of a great restaurant.
Our coffees arrived very quickly and were quite hot which is just how i like it. I am not a coffee snob but i do know how i like my coffee and Newmason nailed it. It was a rich bold roast without being overly bitter. it can be difficult to find a strong coffee that doesn't need a lot of sugar to reign in the bitterness. The coffee was spot on.
Our breakfast arrived within 20 minutes of being ordered which is more than acceptable. My breakfast burrito was a good size and was quite densely packed with chorizo sausage, spinach, cheese and eggs which were deliciously light and fluffy. it was lightly toasted on the outside and flaked slightly when i bit into it. The 2 hash browns that accompanied the burrito while small, were perfect. Fried to a golden brown with a slight saltiness and a perfect crunch. The tomato relish was divine. I can't comment on my fiance's breakfast as i didn't have any but she loved it and had no complaints.
The breakfast menu is very well priced compared to some of the other restaurant/cafe options available in the area. We ordered 2 breakfast meals and 2 coffees and left with change from a $50 note which is great value considering the very high quality of the meals that we were served. The only disappointing thing was we didn't eat there sooner.
We will...
