Thought we would give this place a try for breakfast. Stood there to be seated and no one greeted us. Decided to take a menu and go to a table outside to then have a waiter tell us another couple would be sitting there. Then go back inside to wait to be seated to then have to approach the lady and ask if we can sit at one of the tables inside, to then be told they are all booked out later and we must obviously be there for breakfast. So after realising they weren't going to even try to organise us a table we decided to leave. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Poor customer service. Absolutely love coming in now—the vibe has completely shifted thanks to the amazing new staff! The new barista, Hannah, is doing an incredible job! coffee has never tasted better. You can tell she really knows what she’s doing she even served me a latte with a little bear on it today. Moana was also a standout! friendly, attentive, and clearly carrying the team today top-notch service with a smile. It was disappointing to see the other waitress (Anita I believe her name was) leaving everything to Moana, which didn’t go unnoticed. Has new owners. Food has nosedived and menu has lost the plot. This was once a gem - New owners and all the charm and nuance is gone. Originally authentic French food in Woodend, run by a French chef. Nothing charming, delicious or French about it now, just standard, dull, food-court style food. My partner's pastry was clearly two or three days old and hard as a rock. My lunch tasted like all the pieces had been pre-cooked and was disappointing. We couldn't be bothered taking it back but we wont be going back either. Atmosphere is nice but the food is very poor now. By Melbourne dining standards, it is appalling.
