Visited about less than a month ago, and wanted to wait before I rated. Firstly the elderly lady who was serving (maybe the owner), whom I don't know from a bar of soap, Was chatting to another staff member, then approached the counter, to serve, continued the conversation to me, about another staff being on leave, and meant to be back today, but was sick. Blah! Blah? Blah. As a customer, this is not my problem, and this is not professional on your part. I don't care, and am sure other customers did not care. Once I ordered and paid, I went to my table. The tables and floors needed attention. So did the rest of the store. Food and coffee was average. Then we overheard the same lady talking to another couple at the counter, while paying. She made sarcastic remarks, and they looked uncomfortable. (I won't get into that as it was not appropriate). This couple did not need to be insulted by your sarcastic remarks, even though you are trying to be diplomatic in your part, it certainly didn't make you look intelligent. My son said she is rude, I don't like it here, can we go. We left everything and left..... The store does have loads on nik nil-nacks to purchase, like jams, coffees, coffee acc' etc. It's a quirky store. So I hope everyone who visits this cafe, does have a better experience. And hope the older lady does less chatting and chooses her words wisely while...
Read moreI don’t usually leave negative reviews but this place is seriously bad, I would avoid and go to any of the other cafes on the strip.
Firstly, ridiculous price gouging. Even for a touristy strip it’s excessive.
$4 for a babycino (just a regular, espresso cup sized one, with a chocolate freckle).
$14 for ‘avocado toast’, which was ONE slice of toast with avocado/onion mix.
I started eating my toast (ate about 3/4 of one HALF slice), then my toddler needed the bathroom so we briefly went, leaving our stuff there to signal we were still eating. Came back and they’ve cleared everything. The server apologised and said they would bring me another toast. Came back a few minutes later (credit for being fast) with another HALF a piece of toast on a plate. Like seriously how stingy can you get? How much is a piece of toast? What did you do with the other half? It just boggles the mind that I ended up paying $14 for not even one whole piece of toast.
Also I agree with the other reviews that the main/owner lady is super rude and unfriendly. I won’t go into detail but seriously, work on your attitude and presentation or don’t work a...
Read moreI don't usually leave reviews like this. When we walked in to order our breakfast, we certainly weren't greeted with a friendly smile! In fact... it felt like we were a bother! When I ordered my big breaky roll, I asked specifically for no tomato relish and got an abundance of it! When I asked if I could add bbq sauce the response was "don't think we have it!" She didn't even check! My friend asked if there were any options to the bread that was on offer and rudely told "they don't make changes". After waiting a while for a food.. her breakfast (eggs on toast) came out with 2 very small eggs plonked on a plate with a piece of toast beside. My big breaky roll was the what seemed to be a roll a little bigger than a dinner roll! My friend then needed the toilet, to which you had to walk through the kitchen to get to. When opening the door, the kitchen was absolutely filthy! Food all over the dirty floors, not to mention a dusty full tomato near the hotplates! For the amount we paid, we would have got better quality for...
