If you like passive aggressive behaviour strap in for a dining experience at this stunning seaside Cafe. A friend and I attended this Cafe yesterday morning during a busy time. We cleared our table and I returned a table number 18 when ordering my food. My friend followed after, stating table 18. My food was amazing and I do recommend the chai latte! My friends however, not so much. Around 15 minutes had passed and I went to check on her iced latte, I was curious. I saw one sitting on the bench and waited in the long line. During this wait I witnessed the docket being scrunched up and discarded leaving the iced latte solo. I thought maybe some confusion, assumed they would sort it and returned to the table. Awhile later I was back in line. When I told the lady I didn't like to complain she was lovely! She did offer to re make it and advised it was on a different docket and that someone did walk around and couldn't find us. She said the food would be out in three mins they would make it now. She also offered to make the food take away. We found it interesting the food has not been made, however likely that the docket being discarded may have caused this. Either way it was rectified, we took the existing iced latte and moved on. So we thought. The food came out. Now I consider my friend and I to be both down to earth, understanding and quite efficient. My friend did say table 18. On the plate, touching my friends food, low and behold was the delightful crumpled or should I say uncrumpled docket. I would like to add here that I am not in the hospitality industry so here is my humble feedback. A. Given the name of the Cafe I do not think plating up a clearly unscrunched table docket is a feature. B. Likely not hygienic after being sat at the bar, scrunched and gone to whichever surface, removed and plated. C. It was an assault on the eyeballs. D. Completely unnecessary and clearly to prove a point with regards to the table number. I personally in my own kitchen or as an employee would refrain from adding such a delicacy to someone's meal. Perhaps next time rather than leaving the plate and saying "there you go" this could be an example of some communication, (including if they would still like to blame the customer) "Hello there, we have discovered the docket number said table 5, not 18. Perhaps some confusion at either end". Overall a beautiful place to eat, just order your docket fresh and on the side. Disclaimer 1. Ken did not serve me or I would have rubbed that out. 2. My four year old niece...

Plated Café is an absolute gem in Point Lonsdale. From the moment you walk in, the warm coastal vibe and friendly staff make you feel right at home. The menu is thoughtfully curated, offering a mix of wholesome, fresh, and beautifully presented dishes that really highlight local produce.

I tried their smashed avo with feta and poached eggs, seafood pasta and it was packed with flavour, generous in portion, and plated with care. The coffee is outstanding—smooth, rich, and clearly made with passion. Their desserts and pastries are also a must-try, especially if you enjoy something sweet to finish.

The café itself has a relaxed, modern design with plenty of natural light, making it a perfect spot for a weekend brunch, a casual lunch, or even just a coffee break after a walk by the beach. Service was quick, attentive, and genuinely friendly, which made the whole experience even better.

Overall, Plated Café combines quality food, great coffee, and a welcoming atmosphere—definitely one of the best spots in Point Lonsdale. Highly recommended whether you’re a local or just...

Came for brunch with my baby and partner. We were visiting on our holiday. Staff seemed very overwhelmed and understaffed. No one spoke to us at all upon entering the premises and we tried to grab attention of a staff member to get guidance on the high chairs for bubs. All high chairs in the restaurant were broken and had no safety straps that were working so were dangerous for bubs to sit in. Please get these Fixed or purchase some new ones. And if not willing to do that then just don’t provide them. Food was great, but staff seemed quite overwhelmed to the point where as the waitress passed to place my plate on the table, my breakfast slid off the plate onto the table she threw it down so quick. There was no “enjoy your meal” or even a single word spoken. Gets quite hot inside as it doesn’t seem to be any air conditioning in the restaurant. Sea breeze...

Honestly the worst food we have ordered. This was burnt and soaked in oil $17 fish and chips. It’s literally out of a box. My partner had the open lamb souvlaki. By open I feel like they left it out in the open for a few days as the lamb was un chewable. My kids all had pancakes with Ice cream. 1 x adult (2 pancakes) 2 x kids (1 pancake) as you can see in the top corner of the attached picture it’s way way overpriced for a cup sized pancake. The sign above our table says “Please don’t feed the birds”, at first I thought it was because it would just attract more but after eating the meal maybe it’s just for their own good. Seriously just don’t eat here.

Stopped to check out the view and thought, “Why not grab a bite?” Well, the burger wasn’t just good—it was bloody brilliant! Hands down, one of the best I’ve ever had. The coffee? Spot on—not too bitter, not too weak, just the Goldilocks of coffee. Chips were fresh, golden, and not a hint of charcoal—crispy perfection! If you’re down this way, don’t just drive past—swing in. The staff are flat-out like a lizard drinking, but they’re friendly as, so do yourself a favour: give ’em a smile, be a good sport, and they’ll treat you like royalty. Perfect lunch, perfect pit stop. You’d be mad to miss it!
