Red Rooster Shepparton — Restaurant in Victoria

I ordered a Rooster Roll from the Shepparton store about 20 minutes before closing time. The chicken was dark, dry and rubbery and had a weird odour so thankfully, I only ate a few bites. I felt sick not long after and didn't eat anything else. Later that night, I couldn't sleep and ended up vomiting until my stomach was empty which made me feel better. The next morning the rubbish bin stunk because of the chicken. This is the second time I've bought a meal close to closing time and found the food inedible. The first time I threw the whole meal away after eating a few chips which were soggy and greasy. This is the only time I've actually vomited but I won't ever buy food from this store again. The chicken is not fresh and I suspect they keep it longer than they should then reheat it (especially at the end of the day). Avoid this store unless they get...

Meh was hoping for better. Alas not. Average. Mix box and some decent fried chicken but bland. Chips were soft. Mash was sodium bomb. The roost roll ( that pale white thing on the photo) was mega soft and again bland. Wings were ok but again no favour other than fried taste and a bit of salt. K f c is better.

Edit return visit Nov 22. Under Reno, smelt of paint inside bit off putting. However food is much better that prev visit. Roll wasn't soggy or too salty. The fried hot red chicken was a tad oily but ok and the fries again not too salty or soggy. Better.

Roast pack potato's way too salty, like a mini crispy...

One of the more expensive takeaway places but my sister really likes it. They sometimes get your order wrong but not as often as other places do. We've had friendly customer service every time over the last 6 months. We no longer go into the store as it was absolutely filthy when we did - especially the outside dining and the kids playground - i snapped my thong because it got stuck to the sticky floor as soon as we walked out there -.- not cool!) But they may have gotten on top of that by now. Hopefully. Their waiting bay in the drive thru is in a ridiculous spot - hoping they change it...
