Perfect venue particularly for a special occasion (as ours was) - but it is so very good we would happily eat here anytime. Many other reviews say it so well - this place is simply excellent. The owners just know how to deliver the perfect dining experience (and other restaurants might take note!). Intimate atmosphere; music that enhances and doesn't compete with quiet conversation. Warm, friendly and attentive staff who offer information to help diners make the best choices (very glad we were advised about the generous portions of all the tempting side dishes - it enabled us to save room for the delicious pannacotta desert!). Fresh ingredients turned into creative and absolutely scrumptious food that is cooked perfectly. Irresistable cocktails and interesting wine options. Although an after-dinner coffee was not available (apparently no room for the equipment), we happliy went with a muscat instead and that rounded off a perfect night. Totally flawless experience. But if I could make any suggestions, one or two extra options for after-dinner drinks would be nice. A very high standard that would compare favourably with many other quality restaurants in much larger cities. Bright locals, you are so lucky to have Sir Loins. We can't wait to eat here next time we visit this lovely town.

The most perfect dinner ever! Honestly, what a treat and surprise to have one of the best dinner experiences in the cozy little town of Bright! Coming from Melbourne, this place is right up there with some of the best. Except you won’t have to fork out half your pay check to get something as good (or even better) than Melbourne’s best steakhouses. Special mention to our server (unfortunately I forget her name), she made the whole experience excellent with her attentiveness and casual conversation. Even offered to upsize the scallops from 3 to 4 since there was two of us. And she gave us some great travel recommendations for Bright. What about the food? Nothing short of delicious. It is so good, so fresh and well put together. There is nothing to fault, everything was cooked to our liking and the portions were well sized too. All the flavours complemented each other, the chef really knows what he’s doing! From starters to dessert, everything was 5 stars. Finally, the ambiance is very inviting, cosy and warm. Tables are limited so I do recommend reservations ahead. We cannot wait to be back in Bright and visit Sir Loin’s again! Kudos to the whole team on delivering something truly special.

Food: Tomahawk was amazing. We chose garlic butter/blue cheese/chimichurri sauces. Chimichurri was a disappointment and there was sour component (lemon juice or vinegar). Blue cheese sauce was nice. The Blini pancakes with Taramasalata was delicious, though for $18 we were expecting either larger pancakes or more of them to finish the dip. Roasted bone marrow was creamy, the bread needed to be crispy. Charred broccolini is nothing special. Service: The girls who served us were friendly and attentive. Initially, it was awkward to stand in the stairway without a host desk nearby while we waited to be greeted for a couple of minutes. The tomahawk came out without an introduction or explanation of the sauces. Atmosphere: We sat in the corner next to the cow hide art piece, where the chair has loose rear legs giving the impression it may fall apart any minute. A speaker is direct at the wall nearby, making it almost impossible to hear each other (or our friendly neighbouring table) talk with us. The acoustics in general need to be reworked. Lighting is dark enough for a romantic atmosphere, light enough to read menus and see faces.

Steak was not seared and unevenly cooked being blue in spots - we asked for Medium rare. When you see a steak come out grey in colour then you know that the grill was not hot enough. The other dish we had was a chicken fillet, which was dry and very heavily salted that made it unpleasant to eat. Sides were $10 each - overpriced and the quality just wasn't there to match. Broccolini was heavily over salted. Carrots were heavily sauced and too firm to our taste. The one gem was the sweet and sour Brussels sprouts - these were actually very nice and a generous serve was given - the one dish that we would recommend. We have visited this restaurant many times over the years but standards have slipped from our first several experiences, the last three visits have seen the quality fall where the food no longer matches the higher prices being asked. Service was fine but we didn't appreciated hearing the couple on the next table being chucked out while they were still eating their meal - we are aware that there is a 2 hour time limit but do you have to be loud and rude about telling your customers to move on - the couple weren't impressed and nor were the people on surrounding tables that witnessed it. After a poor show with the main meals and sides and a tally of well over $100, which only included an orange juice and one odd tasting and very cloudy beer as drinks, we decided to skip the $17 dessert offerings and thought about winding things up. The final icing on the cake though, was that we were still well within our 2 hour timeslot but after saying to the serving staff, that we were ok on drinks and fine for the moment (We did not say we were finished), the bill arrived on the table, which we had not asked for. Needless to say, it was our last visit - we have tried to give the restaurant our support over the last few trips to Bright, even though we were less than happy with how the quality was sliding. We cannot recommend it and won't...
