We arrived just before 10:30 am and found the cafe nearly full. Unfortunately, we were initially turned away as there were no available tables, despite noticing a single customer occupying two tables (four seats). It would have been courteous for the staff to politely ask if they could separate one of the tables to accommodate more patrons. As we were about to leave, a kind customer offered us their table, allowing us to stay. I ordered the French toast, which featured a crispy fried brioche, whipped vanilla mascarpone, almond flakes, two small slithers of torched banana, a scattering of strawberries, chocolate soil, and a ball of vanilla ice cream. The presentation was appealing, though the bread was a bit dry in parts, and the mascarpone was melted all on top of the toast. The ice cream was a welcome addition to balance the dryness. My partner opted for the chicken and avocado cheese toastie with honey mustard, which was delicious and had a generous amount of filling for each ingredient. The honey mustard added a great touch. The coffee was also good; my weak flat white required only half a teaspoon of sugar, which is less than I typically need.

Looks like the place to be so thought would give it a try. The menu has some classic breakfast dishes and lunch options such as gyros, pizza and pastas. I orderd the gyros it was OK however for the price there is no value for $16. I would have preferred ice berg lettuce instead of mix leafs as it adds a bitterness. A $6 bowl of chips came out in seasoned and no condiments. Unfortunately the service received could be better as there was no follow ups especially when they cleared my coffee cup I was not asked if I would like anything else.

I think this is the best cafe in Ballarat!! Staff were friendly, food were amazing, and my matcha was so good! There’s not many cafes in Ballarat that sells matcha and I’ve tried them all. Tin roof cafe has the best matcha in town! I had the special menu which was the chilli crab linguine. Genuine portion and it was delicious! If it was spicier it would’ve been perfect :D I’ll defs come back to try the other food and ofc for the matcha :)

This cafe is a little gem. We love trying new places for brunch dates. It has a relaxed atmosphere. The staff are so helpful and friendly. The coffees are on point, and the meals are delicious and well presented! The wonton bowl is absolutely mouthwatering! We will definitely make this place one of our regular hangouts for brunch in Ballarat!

little cafe with great menu. loved the service mind of all staff. my brunch was huge but delicious. my cappuccino was top notch. I'd like to be there once again when the cafe is not too crowded. there is both inside and outside tables but it's a bit too cold if having my meal outside. it would be nicer in spring or summer.

Travelling through Ballarat, decided to stop in for a late breakfast and was pleasantly surprised at the amazing service and delicious food. I ate one of the best French toast I've ever had, with brilliant presentation and my partner had and the smashed avo. Definitely on our list next time we're in town.
