The Owner and Chef need to understand "Customer Service" and raising voices isnt appropriate.
Just telling it like it is here folks and I have the utmost respect for Chefs and Cafe Owners.
Walked in to a pretty empty place, no hello or welcome. Sat in the corner next to another table. The waitress was talking to the table so I thought not to disturb her. I wasnt even sure if she worked there. After 5 min and needing to get on the road I went searching for a menu and someone to take my money.
Found a person behind the counter and asked for a menu, she was lovely and took my order.
1 minute later the waitress from the chatty table asked if I wanted anything. I replied Ive allready been served thanks and told her. i wasnt sure if she worked there.
To which, I was told in the classic defensive tone: she was the owner and looking after customers, no apology and straight away Im the problem. Sorry dont feel like dropping $25 on eggs and coffee anymore. Told her Im sorry but I dont care for "Im the owner speel etc..." Went to walk out and was followed by her ranting about how amazing her business is etc... Then outside, the chef started throwing abuse in front of the whole cafe at me. Then yelled out never to come back.
At no point did I attack you, your business or your food, I simply wanted some service and god forbid I tell it like it is.
Being a new local to the area felt very unwelcome and quite frankly wont ever be back. The prices are a bit steep what...
Read moreWe arrived just before 10:30 am and found the cafe nearly full. Unfortunately, we were initially turned away as there were no available tables, despite noticing a single customer occupying two tables (four seats). It would have been courteous for the staff to politely ask if they could separate one of the tables to accommodate more patrons.
As we were about to leave, a kind customer offered us their table, allowing us to stay. I ordered the French toast, which featured a crispy fried brioche, whipped vanilla mascarpone, almond flakes, two small slithers of torched banana, a scattering of strawberries, chocolate soil, and a ball of vanilla ice cream. The presentation was appealing, though the bread was a bit dry in parts, and the mascarpone was melted all on top of the toast. The ice cream was a welcome addition to balance the dryness.
My partner opted for the chicken and avocado cheese toastie with honey mustard, which was delicious and had a generous amount of filling for each ingredient. The honey mustard added a great touch. The coffee was also good; my weak flat white required only half a teaspoon of sugar, which is less than I...
Read moreExtremely disappointed. Ordered the Soldier’s on the Hill pizza. Looked wonderful. The pizza topping include prawns. I started eating and the first slice was fine. On the second slice I crunched down on something. On investigation it was prawn tail. I figured there must’ve been tails still on the prawns which was my mistake. I checked the other prawns and started finding that there was prawn tails (shells) scattered on the pizza without even being still on the prawn. This was scattered as if it was a topping - crunchy prawn tails (shell). Completely put me off my food.
Mentioned to the waitress when she was collecting dishes. She said she’d investigate and check with the chef. The waitress never returned to the table to explain what happened, showed no apology or remorse and gave no compensation or refund. I gave them the benefit of the doubt to come back with an explanation but to not follow up and expect/assume I might just have forgotten the issue is completely unacceptable. Very...
