Nice coffee and nice pastries.

I preferred its old location, but obviously having an inside seating area now is very beneficial. People seem to be complaining about pretentiousness? I don't find it pretentious, they just sell coffee and pastries. People also seem to be complaining about the fact there's no disposable coffee cups, which is crazy, you shouldn't be using disposable coffee cups, just ask them to give it to you in a keepcup if you want to have takeaway. Happy 2nd birthday to Tortoise Espresso! The folks here are lovely and know their coffee incredibly well. The pastries are baked locally and are absolutely divine. Pictured is a peach and cascara tonic with rose petals and lemon.

2025 Update: Congratulations on the new location, folks! The cafe atmosphere is trendy and the food and drink options are great. Partnering with Table Records in this location adds a lot to the energy and atmosphere of Castlemaine. Loved the bagel and have never had a dud coffee. Cheers...

over priced for something i could do better at home. the aioli sauce overpowered the taste of everything.

the iced coffee was a poor effort. my daughter had a sip but we were expecting cream or iced cream on top but it came out all watery with ice and the waiter said it’s an iced late. we have it back and not once did they offer us out money back for the drink or offer us something else. i’ll spend my $44 elsewhere next time. first time ive ever given a review anywhere and unfortunately it was...
