Second time visiting tonight and sad to say it was disappointing for me. To start with, I ordered a black Russian, specifically the way my mum wants it, 2 parts vodka, one part kahlua, on ice, no coke. The bartender said yep, then proceeded to make the drink, but out a whole shot of vodka, whole shot of kahlua. So literally didn't listen to the request, and just said that's what my sheet says. He ended up adding another shot of vodka to balance the drink, but that made it a much stronger drink than requested. (2×) Most meals came out well and were enjoyed (senior meals are relatively small compared to other venues). My chicken breast was pink though, and when I went to a waiter about it, it was taken out the back to the chef. 5 minutes later, brought back out to me and I was told it was fine, just the blood line. I said it really wasn't OK for me, pink chicken is not something I want to risk. So the meal was taken back to the chefs. Ten minutes must have passed, I then started eating my daughters left over burger. My meal was brought out yet again, and the chefs had cut into it further, and decided it was definitely OK for me to eat, and because I had eaten some already (the thin side of the breast) was that they would give me a free drink. Honestly, by this point, I can't be bothered arguing. I shouldn't have to. A $30 chicken breast should be cooked properly, and be edible by the diner. Bringing my plate back and forth over a 20 minute period is really unacceptable. I took the the free (not free because I didn't get a meal) drink and dealt with it, but honestly that kind of service is really not on. It's not often I write a negative review, but I feel in this case it...
Read moreAbsolutely disgusted with Warragul Downtowner Bar & Bistro! Flew down from Sunshine Coast QLD on Monday with a valid Victorian travel permit, had a Covid-19 test the following day with a Negative result returned on the Wednesday all of which I could show the venue. On approach clearly marked signs saying "No Residents from Greater Melbourne or Cardinia Shire will be permitted entry." Given the current lockdown in Melbourne, it made sense. Upon entry my sister and I were both asked for ID, after producing mine I was informed that I would not be allowed entry because I was from QLD. I politely protested and advised I could show valid VIC travel permit and negative Covid-19 test result and was told the manager was on his way. Manager approached saying no entry for Interstate travellers - the signs CLEARLY stated no one from Greater Melbourne or Cardinia Shire nothing about interstate travellers. Disgusting Attitudes & Customer Service!! Funny thing was we were looking at the venue to book a Birthday dinner for 20-30 guests when restrictions do ease and the rest of the family can safely travell from Melbourne. My Sister being a local resident of over 8 years has most likely found a much friendlier, Covid-19 compliant & TOLERANT venue not far from there with staff more than happy to accommodate our...
Read moreI totally agree with Daniel Hill. The food was okay. The customer service of the reception area (I think her name might be Sue) was poor and a bit strange: On entry and going through the check-ins, it felt she was a like a stern principal in high school and I and my mates (all above 30 years of age) like high school students. It was unprofessional customer service. Belle and Ash were helpful and polite.

Thank you for your response.
I don't have any problems with the sign-in and COVID safety checks. They are absolutely necessary and I do it even I am not asked. It was the way it was done upon entry of my group of friends as customers that was the issue (the point mentioned about the reception treatment). We did not see that strange treatment by the reception to other groups of customers that checked in before us. Do we need to be your regular customers to be receiving your polite and respectful...
