One of the joys travelling to rural Australian towns is visiting little gems like this that aren't subject to the fashion food trends of the big cities. These are old school classics done well with the hospitality of country folk. Love the retro decor these places have and it's the last bastion of local eateries before the big restaurant groups buy up all the pubs and clubs and gentrify and modernise a slice of hospitality history. The spice levels here aren't dumbed down, the naan here is perfectly fluffy, garlicky and cheesy. The sauces are rich and complex and have layers of flavours as you work through them. A true sign of expertise of working with spices are those that cook the oils out of the spices, those that don't will always end up in reflux or heartburn. Indian Tavern is one of the best, west of Harris Park or Parramatta. Their flavours are sublime, the service is warm and friendly and most of all a welcome and a farewell is always there for you. One of the best spots to eat in Wagga.

When we walked in we got seated within about 2 mintues. We sat down and had about 5 mintues before our order was taken. The food was somewhat reasonably priced but had lots of variety. The food came within about 15 mintues. It all looked pretty gorgeous. My only complaint with the food was lack of desserts, lack of gluten free, and the pricing for the dessert. Overall very nice. The servers were focused and extremely professional, the atmosphere was also nice and had heating/music. Would reccomend

First discovered this place coming back from a girls trip. We were exhausted and super hungry and we were welcomed in like family. Honestly, best indian food I have ever eaten and yes the butter chicken is a must haha I always ensure that whenever I visit wagga I stay long enough to be able to order a meal from here. The staff and the lady at reception are so beautiful and I always enjoy every visit.

We drove all the way from Griffith to Wagga — a two-hour trip — just to have dinner at this restaurant because of the amazing experience my husband and I had here about a year ago. Back then, the food was absolutely delicious, and the flavours really stayed with us. That memorable meal was the reason we decided to return, this time with family.

We ordered a platter, and it was clear that nothing on it was fresh. The fish and chicken had absolutely no flavour, and felt like they had been sitting for a while. The only thing with some taste was the lamb chops, which had a bit of flavour — but not enough to save the overall experience.

Unfortunately, this visit was very disappointing. The food quality has noticeably declined — it lacked flavour, and none of the dishes stood out. The service was also quite slow, which added to our frustration. Everyone in our group felt that it wasn’t worth the long drive. It’s really disheartening to see such a drop in standards from a place...

We planned to visit this place since so long, but were too disappointed with the service. We arrived at 7:30 pm and aked for a table for 5. The staff made us wait for 15 minutes at the reception although there were plenty of empty tables for 5 already. When finally we got a table we ordered the food and waited for 45 minutes to get our order and asked the reception where is our ordered food was? When the food came and it was the wrong order. And cherry on top the waiter was super arrogant and rude. When we wanted to add on another food item they refused to take more order. Worst of all, my daughter was not even finished eating and the waitress started picking up the plates without even having the courtesy to ask permission first. The appearance of the place was good but we literally had to wait more than 45 minutes to eat for less than 25 minutes. I would not recommend this...
