Bland and tepid lamb curry with cold un heated bread that was like card. Looks like an interesting little cafe and was steered to the lamb curry, when it arrived it was sloppy looking and barely warm. Was more like a sloppy, soupy stew than a curry and had zero flavour. Possibly I'd have been better opting for a more Turkish style meal but it shouldn't be a lucky dip with menus. The bread was equally bland and should have been warmed up. Pretty sure the "lamb curry" was just a special to use up leftover ingredients. Scuffy looking boho cafe that could use a clean and de-clutter.
Response from the owner: please tell us if u are not satisfied = I just did We never have a complaint about our lamb curry = You just have
Sometimes an apologetic response is better than a defensive response. It wasn't a curry, it was a sloppy stew. All your responses to poor reviews are defensive and in denial. You even claim in one response that you don't serve chicken, but its on your menu! possibly your elderly cook was having a bad day, we all have them. Please dont deny my experience...
Read moreWe had the $25 mixed plate (we chose 4 mains including chicken curry, lamb curry, stuffed zucchini, and okra stew) which was very nice and big enough to feed myself and hubby. The pistachio baklava is absolutely heavenly!!!! It is seriously the best baklava i've ever had in my life and I don't think I can eat baklava elsewhere anymore unless I go to the origin country. It is not too sweet, pastry is crunchy and soft at the same time (melting in my mouth) with the perfect mix of rosewater and syrup, the pitaschio layer in the middle is simply way too generous (very thick layer of real chopped pistachio sourced from a nearby farm). Before visiting Nabiha's I thought only food from grandparents and parents would get this generous amount of filling inside. I just keep thinking about the baklava after we left the restaurant and I'm so determined to go back to get more. I wish all the very best to Nabiha, her lovely family and of course...
Read moreThe subtitle of this restaurant says”kebab shop” but this is so much more than a kebab shop!
This is about as close as you can get to your grandma making delicious home-made food for you inside a cute little shop. The shop is filled with so much love and history and character and the people that work there truly are masters of their craft; inspired by a love for food and devotion to God through their service to others.
Really, from the moment we walked in to the moment we left we felt so much warmth and hospitality. The food was just incredible and I’m stunned such a place exists in such an unassuming location. A real testament to the incredible contribution to culture that a single family moving to a new city can have within a generation.
Try this place you...
