Little Gallery Cafe is a place I’ve been visiting for a few years when I’ve been in Warwick.
My first couple of years were fantastic experiences. While only in town for a long weekend, I’d often visit a couple of times as the food was generous, well prepared and cooked and the service was also really helpful and friendly. The cafe was always full and there was a great buzz! I enjoyed breakfast, BLTs, open grills and the specials as well as some cakes and tea.
However, my last two trips have been really disappointing. One team member with long black hair often in a clip is outright rude. She does not speak or smile. The cafe does not appear to have sufficient cooling so it is not enjoyable to eat in. Closing the front doors and investing in another air-conditioning unit and pedestal / floor fans would go along way to helping. Allowing the friendly team member working as the barista to serve more people would also be a good idea.
The service has also become incredibly slow. Getting a glass of water is almost impossible. Why not have self-service jugs and glasses available if it is such an inconvenience to you to provide one? Also it takes up to 15mins for a bottle of soda water and a glass of ice to arrive at the table. I cannot understand this.
The cafe has lost its buzz. People do not seem to be going there so much or enjoying their food.
The food I’ve had on my last two visits really has been unacceptable. On the first occasion when I had the tandoori wrap I thought it was an accident that the lettuce had been put in a sandwich toaster along with the cucumber. Clearly it was not. When we ordered BLTs on Thursday these were also placed in the sandwich press with the lettuce. It is a disgusting eating experience when you get a mouthful of slimy leaves. Given it took 20mins for lunch to arrive though, there was no time to send it back. This is such a simple sandwich to make if you simply put the bread in the toaster while the bacon cooks and assemble it when both are ready…no slimy lettuce then!!
Sadly I’m not willing to have a third try.
I hope this review allows you to consider what you are doing and look back on what were your standouts previously - simple food made fresh and cooked well; with thought, friendly service and...
Read moreWhat a great coffee shop in the main street of Warwick to sit, relax and watch the passing parade, they have got you covered, you can sit on the footpath under umbrellas, on their outside deck or sit inside. You place your order inside with their very friendly staff and your order is brought to your table. They bake all their own pastries and cakes and their menu is comprehensive as you will see in my photos. Not only is a great location to dine, it also has gift wares. I must say that the price of coffee and tea are very, very reasonable, a pot of Green Tea and a Mug of Flat White coffee is only $9-00 and there is No SURCHARGE for the using a card, BEAT THAT. They have a large variety of teas, as you will see. All that is left to say, if you live in Warwick and you haven't been to the Little Gallery Cafe, you are missing out on a Special Treat or should you be travelling through Warwick make the effort to stop, have a coffee or a meal at this great cafe, you won't be...
Read moreHubby and I enjoyed lunch here on our way back to Brisbane (on a weekday). It was fun to sit outside and people-watch. Our drinks - white chocolate mocha and a white hot chocolate were very warming and flavoursome - and hit the spot on this fairly cold day (but sunny), and came out in good time tho we did have to wait about 40 minutes for our meals. They did explain beforehand and apologised in advance for the wait (staff down perhaps?). I had a Thai beef salad, while he had a vegetarian open grill. My salad was very tasty - fabulous hot, sweet chilli dressing with generous beef strips, and tomatoes rocket etc. Hubby loved his meal; lots of grilled veg. and a tomato relish. Very happy with the generous slice! We will happily eat here again on...
