Thought I would try out the big hype that this place had when it first opened. First impression when I entered was ok nothing caught my eye. The owner however was behind a counter scoffing down his lunch. I welcome greeting would have been nice regardless if your eating. I ordered the Beef Royale, excited to see the beef was from a local butcher! When I received the burger with the side of chips I was immediately disappointed with the lack of chips (2 varieties shoestring and thick cut!) There was on the plate... The chips were so oily I could barely eat it. Leaving an unpleasant taste. Took my first bite of the burger.. second.. third thinking I could do this but no.. sorry this lacked in all departments. In my opinion if you are going to add a special sauce which is creamy and coleslaw WHICH is also creamy perhaps adding fresh tomato, lettuce and even beetroot to cut the richness. This was a definite no for me.. the meat patty itself was lacking. Pretty sad to give such a negative review because I had high hope for.thos place, but hopefully the owner may take...
Read moreThis place was awesome! Had lunch with my family as were visiting Warwick and couldn’t believe how good it was. We had two pizzas and a carbonara fettuccine with mushrooms and bacon. The pizza was deadset delicious. And the pasta was wicked tasty as well. We all gave it 5 stars, even my kiddos. If I lived near this place I would smash it with orders. Toilets were great to use at cinema next door and cafe had inside and outside seating. Would be good to eat here on a date or eat and then see a movie. If I had to critique I would only say the piano background music was a bit too loud…..but that’s trying to find fault with something. The food was so good and could tell everything was made from scratch with good ingredients. Pasta was creamy and garlicy, yum! Pizzas were great flavour and nice fluffy soft crust that wasn’t soggy. So good! We can’t...
Read moreWas fortunate enough to drop into Char Belas while visiting Warwick for a conference and was extremely happy with the food being served.
I enjoyed the Texas burger and it does not disappoint with its delicious flavours. The meat was tender, the bacon was perfectly cooked but not super crunchy, crisp pineapple slice with a delicious salad and South western mayo to boot. Side of chips after crunchy shoestring style with a paprika salt making them soooo delectable.
It's clear these guys are proud of the food they make, with moderate pricing at $19 for the budget including chips. Considering McDonald's would serve you closer to that for the burger alone and be great, you'd be silly not to come here instead.
Staff were responsive and welcoming, atmosphere was great and couldn't recommend...
