[Edit : late DEC 2023] ... In reply to business - sorry I got it wrong.

Just went through "deleted items" msgs ... You are 100% correct, unsubscribe link was near top of email ... But in a far SMALLER font than rest of email (usually find it at very bottom) ... Very easy to miss.

Since I have said that I got things wrong ... Any chance you could reread the rest of my review +++ apologise where your business has got it wrong when we visited for dinner ???

You've yet to step up to owning that aspect ... When we visited (I took my sister to dinner - who was visiting from Melb, so a special occassion).

+++ Just by booking a dinner online with you ... Does'nt give you consent to spam email your patrons.

I did NOT see any sort of checkbox to subscribe to such a thing - when booking a table.

Just saying.

[Edit DEC 2023] ... Have now downgraded by 2 stars ... Not happy.

Received marketing email regarding NYE sundowner - but there was no option in email to unsubscribe from mailing list (as should be adhered to by ALL reputable Australian businesses).

This email address was used to make a booking only last month. At no time, did I acknowledge to receive marketing emails !!!

+++ As stated, there is no option/link in email to unsubscribe.

very POOR form :( :( :(

[Edit NOV 2023] ...

Very nice. meals were outstanding - almost worth 5 stars, but not quite.

Why have an option when booking RE: first time experience? ... the service/staff were alittle bit meh.

Table next to us (they were seated after us) - staff went above + beyond for them +++ which is prob what i was thinking when selected "first time" during booking ... but our table staff == not soo much :(

Infact waitstaff actually missed 1 item which we specifically ordered + she repeated when rereading our order to us ... but all's good, as glad didn't get served that dish, as amount of food we ended up with was just right.

Even though ordered drinks within minutes of seating (3x glasses of wine) - drinks actually came out after the bread/beetroot dip was served (which we ordered about 7 mins after drinks).

So not good on that part :( :(

Meals were absolutely 100% perfect, couldn't fault that side of things - even the baked potatoes were perfect.

Would i recommend this place? YES. mainly for the food. Chefs are tops.

B&T has said in response to other reviews - "they are not a fine dining restaurant" ... although their prices are certainly way up there.

Personally - we were happy to pay said prices ... as said - food/meals + chefs == 100% perfect. But wait staff certainly way below average.

[EDIT] : ooh, and the chairs inside, not very comfortable (but better than the chairs outside) - at this price point, would've expected far better quality/comfy chairs ... just pity we didn't get a booth.

I understand that B&T don't class themselves as a "fine dining restaurant" ... but when even a local cafe I went to today - has far better chairs (and food costs at 1/3 of price) ... it's saying something.

Please do - upgrade...

Went here to celebrate with friends and family. They were very nice to be able to accommodate all 6 of us even though I made the booking for dinner on the day, mind you it was also a busy service for them, the restaurant was packed and buzzing!

We were greeted and served with a smile up to the end. My only regret was that wish I had cash on me so I could have given them a tip! And I rarely give tips.

Food was good, not much selection for my taste in my opinion, BUT quality over quantity! It was a treat to taste something different that is well prepared/cooked and presented We left full and satisfied 8/10. Wait time was just right, again considering the restaurant was packed, they did a great job. We ordered 2 serves each of their flatbread, fish tacos, beef sirloin, crispy pork, crispy potatoes, ?grilled eggplant? And 1 of the banoffee bomb alaska i think it's called for dessert. We ordered to share and it was plenty for 6 people. The drinks were delightful too. 5/5.

When it comes to dietary requirements i am pretty sure you can let them know when you book, there are a few vegetarian dish, but limited from what I can remember.

The atmosphere was perfect for gatherings, we were sitted on the balcony overlooking the beach and oh how beautiful the view was when sunset came 😍 it was a bit chilly and windy, but they provided blankets! Which was a nice touch, it shows how much they care about their customers' experience. Very well looked after. Again my only regret was not having cash on me to give a tip.

Next time I visit I definitely will carry cash.

The prices for the food is justified by the quality in my opnion, and the protioning is just right it's not big, but its not too small either, again we shared 2 sirloins between 6 people and it was plenty. We were also nibbling before our mains so we were getting full at that point.

Parking is great, no complaints.

Overall, for the price we paid which was a bit on the high side, we are contented and satisfied. Worth the visit and spend! 👌

I recommend this restaurant 100%

Thank you for the great food...

LUNCH AT BIB &TUCKER was VERY DISAPPOINTING

  • In good conscious I CANNOT RECOMMEND* this venue for lunch or dinner. I will NOT be booking another table for lunch or dinner.

I have booked tables for breakfast many times at B&T for my guests which was consistently good/great and was looking forward to trying their lunch menu.

It was my birthday weekend and dined at the Ritz Carlton and Santorini at QT. The price point was similar or slightly more but that's where the comparison stops....

Surprisingly, The food at B & T for lunch was of a very poor quality, extremely small in portions and profoundly overpriced for what you get.

There was 6pax of us. The burgers came with a few hot chips the looked dry. The burgers sad and deflated on a vacant plate. Not at all bursting with salad and fillings. Reminded me of a childs cheese Burger from McDonald's I once saw.

I had the Seafood Stew. I had to order a side of bread!! ok...!!. The Stew minuscule bland and profoundly overpriced. Do NOT expect anything like a bouillabaisse. Immediately after B&T I went to another venue to eat a full meal.

The octopus salad cold minuscule the entire meal probably half a cup but $33. We are NOT talking fine dining here....

Another ordered the prawn salad as a starter. The prawns "raw" (not ceviche) green small that looked like they were defrosted from a bag a Vietnamese prawns from a Coles freezer or that you might find on a pizza but raw. Everyone on the table joked about them.

When the bill arrived they automatically added 1% calling it card fees before even knowing how we would be paying.

Our table was outside on the north balcony directly opposite the ladies public toilet with some beach view, away from other tables (and children) which was pleasant enough. The fun engaging company were my own..

I left visbly annoyed. Of course I booked this venue for its location but Perth has MANY waterfront/beachside/riverside venues. Consider ine of the many...

May 2024: On our way to Fremantle yesterday in pursuit of a tasty serve of unbattered fish for lunch, and decided to take a detour to see if we could “walk in” here. So glad we did. Very busy but they managed to seat us. All tables have ocean views, some closer and more unobstructed than others. Excellent friendly and efficient service. A good wine list and excellent barramundi beyond our expectations. Despite being on the coast, unfortunately we need to pay a lot for decent fish here in Perth where good fish is served in all its glory - not cheaper versions hidden in batter. A wonderful lunch. Will be back! July 2024: I can’t post a new review so have to add to my previous review! Back again and absolutely stupendous. From parking to service to location to view to ambience (relaxed) to absolutely awesome fresh food perfectly cooked and a well chosen wine list. Had a lobster taco, barramundi and wood fired broccoli. Superb. We haven’t tried Gibneys down the road yet and will do but not racing to do so with Bib and Tucker near by and loving it so much. Keep up the good work 🙌 October/November 2024: Now have puppies who get fed at 12 noon so we come for breakfast. Not as good as Zamia Cafe in Kings Park. Either quality or value. We like scrambled eggs, bacon, mushrooms and sour dough. Plain. Well cooked. Delicious. Not as good as it could/shoukd be 🥹 Also disappointed that our cappuccinos didn’t come out before the meal but after we started eating. We would have cancelled them if we had been made aware there was a problem. Cappuccinos don’t “fit” with a meal.

Beautiful views are the key attraction for this place along with the food and good service. Our entreè, Tostadas was so refreshing and delicious and kept me wanting more, same can be said for the G&T which was rejuvenating! My mum had the Market fish and the fish was tender and the leeks were melting in the mouth. The wait staff were truly attentive and well trained being able to answer clearly how dishes were prepared and what ingredients were included in each dish to a “T”. However, overall the interior is run down and the lady at reception who greeted us was not the most welcoming since she was overcome by the brekkie crowd and greeted all lunch time guests with a RBF. We all have bad days but when you’re in hospitality you really need to have your A game on and always greet guests pleasantly despite what has happened in the restaurant as you are the first point of contact and first impression of the establishment. Lastly, my Black Angus Cheeeburger was served cold and I advised the wait staff who apologized and they were quick to whip me up a new one which was served perfectly warm and delicious. The chips were amazingly seasoned and super crunchy. It was such a simple and fast response that reflects such professionalism. Would I recommend it? Sure, if you’ve never been, give it a go! It’s a super casual dress code so don’t get dressed to the nines for it! Be prepared for it being quite noisy inside so opt for an outside table if the weather holds out.
