We arrived and waited approximately five minutes at the "Wait to be Seated" signage before approaching the bar to request a table for two. We were then shown to a window-side table, where menus and water were promptly provided by the server. However, it took a further 15 to 20 minutes before our order was taken.
The Steak Sandwich was well-prepared and matched its presentation with excellent flavour. The Pad Thai, ordered with an additional prawn supplement ($12 for four prawns as advised at the time of ordering), was also nicely executed in terms of taste and presentation.
However, upon receiving the Pad Thai, we noted that only three prawns were included. We raised this discrepancy with the server at the earliest opportunity, and she assured us she would inform the kitchen. When settling the bill, I inquired whether the charge had been adjusted to reflect the missing prawn. The server stated she was unable to make any changes. I expressed concern, as we had paid for four prawns and received only three.
What was particularly disappointing was the server’s subsequent comment: she had spoken to the chef and was now told the dish was only meant to include three prawns. This directly contradicted the information provided at the time of ordering and left us feeling misled.
Given the total bill of $81 and the fact that we are staying locally for another week, this experience has unfortunately deterred us from returning. We had anticipated dining here multiple times during our stay, which could have represented a meaningful contribution to the venue’s weekly takings. Regrettably, due to the handling of this issue, we will be seeking...
Read moreNothing really spectacular about this venue. The decor desperately needs to be updated, the venue itself is rather dirty, and it's very clear no effort is being made in maintaining this venue, which is a shame. The menu is pretty basic, just standard pub grub, no bells and whistles, as well as the usual specials menu. The food was pretty good, it came relatively quickly, the serving sizes were great. Simple food that's done right.
The service....while the restaurant staff were friendly, hard working, and fast moving, actually getting service isn't easy. Waited ages for food orders to be taken in the first place and then no one came to check on the meals when we got them. In fact, no one came back tp our table at all. Our plates were never cleared, no one came to check if we wanted more drinks, deserts, coffees, etc. So, maybe the staff are busy? I firgure ordering drinks at the bar would be more convenient. Nope! Stood at the bar, ignored by the manager and staff (at this stage I was the only patron at the bar) while they mucked around for at least 10mins having a chat and a laugh between each other. Which i thought was odd as they had both seen me there. Kinda off-putting. Not a welcoming environment at all. Providing service isn't priority for this venue unfortunately.
There's a great view, and the food is prettt good, and it's in an ideal location. It's just not somewhere I would rush back to...
Read moreI really wouldn’t bother. Honestly one of the worst dining experiences I’ve every had. Staff were incredibly rude and just mehh … when I walked in a lady in Dr Martin shoes scuffed her way over to me and then completely ignored me?! She then said did I want something?! … Ermm yea maybe some food and a hello?! At this point I was going to go elsewhere but I was so hungry I went in. I was then served by the same lady not a smile not a thank you not anything and to be honest all the staff looked the same moping around the place. The food was OK just standard pub food really. No one asked if we enjoyed our meal and the real killer was when I paid the guy that took my payment literally just took payment and walked off … no thanks or anything. At this point I had to bite my tongue but I did say to him that it was the rudest experience I’ve ever had.
There’s lots of other lovely places to go… just give this one a miss trust me you’re not...
