Food and service need a good long review!!! Upon arriving, we stood and waited over 5 minutes while 2 staff were having a chat not even acknowledging us even though they looked at us. Finally got our booked table for 4. We ordered our drinks and food which waitress couldn't quite understand the food menu due to lack of knowledge and I guess lack of training. She repeated our food but not what we ordered but got there in the end. Waited over 20 minutes for our drinks - table around us was served and finished their drinks so we had to remind the waitress (twice) that we still didn't have our drinks. The starters were not too bad (bread, olives, salt & pepper squid) and drinks came after which was just place (more like plonk) randomly in kind of a rush. The waitress had spilled some drink on the tray but after she placed our drinks on the table which we had to help ourselves, she then tipped the tray down so the drink went allover my husband's pants, the waitress took off with no apologies or came back with a cloth to wipe. Main meal came after waiting for another hour. I ordered fish of the day which was snapper, it was like rubber.- I honestly couldn't cut it with a knife and tasted bland with no seasoning - couldn't eat it. Not even sure if it was actually snapper in the end. My husband had bug and prawn linguini, prawn/bug was chopped up into bits and hardly any that you can bite in and be satisfied. The other two ordered braised lamb shoulder which they said was ok but yoghurt tasted funny. We told the waiter at the end that my fish was rubbery as he asked why I didn't eat it, due to language barrier he couldn't understand what that meant. The table behind us was waiting for a entree after 40 minutes and apparently kitchen had lost her docket. I don't blame the staff for our dining experience, management needs to do some kind of service training as they had no idea of what they are doing, no customer service skills and not understanding what is on the menu. It isn't just a matter of putting food on tables, it goes beyond that especially when you pay good money. Our lunch cost $273 and I felt it wasn't an enjoyable afternoon, overpriced and underwhelming food and service, pretty much left a bad taste. It is such a pity as location is great and I have been there quite a few times and have enjoyed it in the past. Not sure if management has changed or new chef or something but this is the worse...

My recent visit to Longview Cott left me with a rather mixed impression. I decided to try their burger, which unfortunately, didn't live up to expectations. The patty itself was cooked through, but it was excessively oily, leaving a greasy residue on my fingers and the plate. The bun, sadly, was the biggest letdown. It was incredibly soggy, almost disintegrating under the weight of the patty and toppings. This made the burger difficult to eat and overall, quite unpleasant. It felt like the bun had been sitting for a while or perhaps wasn't toasted properly. It's a shame, because a good burger relies on a solid foundation, and the soggy bun completely undermined the experience.

However, I must commend the service. The staff were genuinely friendly and attentive. Our server was polite, checked on us regularly, and was quick to address any questions we had. They made us feel welcome and comfortable, which is always a plus. The speed of service was also commendable; our food arrived relatively quickly, despite the restaurant being quite busy.

Unfortunately, the ambiance was a bit of a drawback. The restaurant was incredibly loud, making it difficult to hold a conversation without raising our voices. The noise level seemed to be a combination of the bustling atmosphere and the acoustics of the space. It was a bit overwhelming and detracted from the overall dining experience. If you're looking for a quiet, intimate meal, Longview Cott might not be the best choice.

In summary, Longview Cott offers excellent service, but the burger was a significant disappointment. The oily patty and soggy bun were major flaws. The noise level was also a concern. If they could address the burger quality and improve the acoustics, this place could be a real gem. As it stands, it's a place with potential, but needs some refinement. If you are looking for a quick bite with friendly service, and dont mind a loud enviorment then this might be a good place. However if you are looking for a quality burger, I would suggest...

Terrible service.

Came down for lunch today and was lucky to get a table outside with a gorgeous view. That's where the good stops. We were seated and asked for water and then were left alone until attempting to wave down 3 different waitresses to order drinks and food someone finally noticed us. Was willing to give it a shot - Sundays can be bust. First starters came out, we were not checked on or asked how drinks or food was going. Food came to the table at 11:55 and finished off these just after. We were left with dirty plates on our table and once again no check-in or anything. Our original person was nowhere to be seen. We eventually called over another waitress as were waiting on my food and had ordered this 30 minutes prior. She said sorry and went off and never returned..... During this time two other tables had sat down and been offered drinks and food and received these and we were lucky to get our starters and have our plates cleared. Having to flag down another girl the waitress we had to ask rushed to our table and said "oh it's about to get here your first waitress didn't know you were done." - Strange because our plates weren't collected nor did anyone ask or check in on us. Food comes out and nothing... no apology no ask for further drinks or anything. Then once again left with dirty plates on the table. The blonde waitress came and asked us if we wanted tea or coffee...... being offered good drinks wow that was a first here, she then left without clearing plates or asking how anything was. We went to leave and paid for our meal and still no apology for the poor service and delay in anything. Great view, rude staff who looked like they'd rather be anywhere else than helping a customer. Didn't even have the chance to enjoy the food as we were constantly wondering where it...

We recently visited Longview after calling ahead to confirm whether they had dog-friendly outdoor seating — since it’s a 45-minute drive for us, we wanted to be sure. The staff member who took the call assured us it was fine and even booked us in. On arrival, we asked again whether it was okay to bring two dogs in a pram. The same staff member said yes and led us to our seats, adding that they’re not generally dog-friendly but we could keep the dogs in the pram, which was our plan anyway. A little while later, another staff member approached and told us they’re not a dog-friendly venue. I explained that I had called ahead and had it confirmed twice by staff. We even offered to leave and just take the food to go to avoid any issue, but they insisted it was fine for us to stay. However, when it came time to pay, yet another staff member reminded us again not to bring dogs next time because the venue isn’t dog friendly — as if we hadn’t already had that conversation multiple times. Honestly, it felt unnecessary and a little uncomfortable, especially since we had clearly communicated our intentions and were willing to leave. If the venue chose to accommodate us after confirming our booking with dogs, there’s no need to keep reiterating the same point. That said, the food was great — the tiger prawn and scallop dish stood out, and the coffee was excellent. Beautiful views and a relaxing spot to chill out on a sunny day by the beach.

Just some feedback about the Menu if you are thinking about it; Breakfast: Amazing coffee, I recommend the DELICIOUS Chorizo scrambled eggs, chilli, feta, crispy shallots, sourdough Lunch: Entrée: Common loaf bread does not come with traditional butter. It is with nudja butter, it does not pair well it tastes just like spicy capsicum dip from the shops which is a shame as the bread is beautiful. The squid rings are insanelyyyyy salty. The prawn linguine is insanely small portion Drinks: white Howard park sbs (58$) bottle was a stunning drop To finish: AVOID THE WHIPPED MATCHA BASQE with the meringue and kidney beans IF YOU ENJOY TASTE AND FLAVOUR. It was basically a terrible waste of money and really bad, this is not just me saying this but also two other of my family members. Service: friendly, I prefer ordering myself it is table service which is something to be mindful of. It Can get a bit loud in this venue & must remember to open the door for fresh air as it can get quite stuffy if you get seated at the long tables in the back for larger group bookings.

The staff were great, but there is a lack of coordination. We had a booking and when we arrived there was no table available. We said we'd wait for an outdoor table to become available and were offered water, but it took forever for someone to come back and take a coffee order. It was also annoying seeing other walk-ins or potentially other booked customers arrive and, by chance, get an outdoor table ahead of us. When questioning the staff, they said they can't do anything and just to take a table if we saw one. We eventually gave up on the outdoor sections and got a seat inside where our coffees finally arrived. We ordered food and had a long wait, it was busy so understandable. But given how busy it was we were very disappointed when our food arrived and was cold, not luke warm but the bacon and chorizo were cold, so who knows how long our plates waited for the food to cool down so much. The staff were great, as mentioned, but overall management is lacking. They did refund our drinks for the cold meal but over a pretty disappointed experience.
