Carine Glades Tavern — Restaurant in Western Australia

We initially booked our baby shower with these guys a couple weeks in advance. A week before the event, we were contacted and told they had double-booked the function room, and that we had to move it to the next weekend, which was not ideal, as it was quite a large group. On the day, we arrived 30 mins early, and nothing was setup. None of the staff knew the function was happening, and the function manager was not coming in until two hours after the baby shower started! There was food all over the floor, tables were not wiped down, and the 'dedicated' bar person for the function room was just about non-existent the entire party. We spent around $600 on platters, which were not all that flash, and the planned staggering of the platters coming out was not adhered to. All complaints were met with indifference by the staff. At the very end, my extremely pregnant wife was given a $10 bottle of sparkling as an 'apology', which to me, seems inappropriate, considering she cannot drink it! We are extremely unhappy with the level of service provided throughout the entire event, and will not be going back to this venue.

Update: We were contacted by the venue manager a few days later who was very apologetic, and offered us some considerable compensation, which was very much appreciated. What a disappointment , The food in the past has always been very good but today I was saddened to experience tasteless food and inexperienced nil interested service. The girls were polite but not engaged or aware of how to serve us. I had to wave to the waitress to get attention after our initial greeting. The Carine tasting plate not very exciting and over priced for what we received even with the added chorizo sausage for $7 . It was so thinly sliced they must of used a 1/4 of a sausage and grilled it leaving it curled up on the plate. Served with toast cut in half diagonally for three we had to ask for more toast to use all the dips. The toast arrived with our main course and the waitresses came to the table and stood their waiting for us to clear the table for them so they could place the main courses down.Three girls but non of them wanted to clear our plates until I said you can clear the table so you can put our meals down.The sauce of the fish wa the same in the pasta with prawns also tasteless and disappointing lacking any flavour. They obviously make a batch of sauce and throw it on before servicing. No taste or flavour and bland just hick sludge. Unacceptable service. Went for lunch with family today, pretty quiet at the restaurant. Placed an order and waited for half an hour at our table yet not a single staff came to check on us. We then went in to ask about our order and turned out our order did not went through to the kitchen. Did not receive any apology, just saying would make our order and we waited for another 15mins. The neglectance is totally unacceptable considering that there are plenty of staff on floor and not a lot of customers to be served. Had to take away the food after waiting a total of 45 mins at the end. We only received an apology after complaining to the manager of how specifically we are disappointed by the service.

The chips, burger and the sandwiches was pretty good and the portion was decent. But the crispy pork belly was way too dry and overcooked.

The floor staffs were doing a great job in checking everyone’s vaccination certificate but well you sure need to UP YOUR GAME in serving your customers.
