Marmalade Cafe — Restaurant in Western Australia

I love the chef salad. The portion is perfect (the portion tends to be too big for me at many cafes), and the balsamic dressing is lovely. The food comes on time from my experience. Just the other day the waiter served me the chef salad with smoked salmon on top instead of the chicken I ordered. I told him about the mistake, and he took it away swiftly, and then came back with the chicken version 10 minutes later (it was peak time), and he said “here is your salad, I’m sorry that was my fault.” He then asked me how the salad was after I finished eating which was another nice surprise. I haven’t been asked that for a while at a coffee shop. I think this type of care can especially make a cafe shine in Perth, where a large portion of the service industry tends to not apologise for mistakes or hold any accountability compared to other cities. After reading all the negative reviews I have been somewhat hesitant in going to this cafe however after going there for breakfast on the weekend with my wife, I was very thankful I decided to go. The coffee is fantastic and both our meals were perfect in size, absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. I was waiting for my coffee, I watched someone else order an ice latte and then saw the 'barista' pull out 2L ice coffee drink you but from the shop and pour it in a cup with ice in it. Chuck the lid on and serve it, as if it was an ice latte with an espresso shot. $7 For pre-made milk coffee from the local deli. Seems disingenuous and misleading.
