(UPDATE TO REVIEW) As a large family group dinner here on a few occasions and collectively spending over $700 per visit, and near on $3000 all up, you would think there would be some response from the management in respect to well paying customers or any customer for that matter with some constructive criticism, instead of just flogging us off!? I just recently saw the Inglewood hotel is advertising for a new restaurant manager, long over due, maybe there might be some positive change there who knows, but we won't be returning regardless. We will be looking for another local that provides genuine hospitality.
Pretty average experience, we had a booking of 14 family members on Sunday December 4 at 12pm, which we have had on a few occasions before, first rocked up there all was well, was taken to our table ordered drinks and then the customer service stoped from there apart from taking our order, everyone basically had to go and get their second drink at the bar. I ordered the fish and chips which was advertised as Snapper on the menu, and which turned out to be Bassa fish ( boneless mushy farmed fish from Vietnam) probably the lowest grade eating fish around, hake would have been better alternative. To advertise this as Snapper is very deceiving, i definitely would have not ordered that if i knew the fish was Bassa especially at $26?? And yes it was mushy and soggy like always. And for the food to come out 1 hour and 20 minutes later, the restaurant wasn't very busy at all so maybe a ploy to purchase more drinks before eating and filling up? All of the smaller groups dining around us where served within 15 min of arriving? And also it was very average my 9 year old daughter's food came out last, back in the day the children's food always came out first just good old fashion service to keep them happy.
Basic rundown non existing customer service. Poor quality food at premium prices. Very slow service. Not wheelchair friendly when in big group bookings as the large table is up 2 stairs, we had two people confined to wheelchairs which we physically had to lift them up and down the stairs.
The positives where the staff were friendly at first, all the food come out at once, apart from the kids meal. And split billing at the end was convenient for everybody there to square up...
Read moreHad a pleasant lunch with my father today at the Inglewood. It's a comfortable little pub venue that's been around for a long time. We did not have a booking and there was only one table available for us which was a bit close to a large Christmas party group so it was a little loud. There were lots were empty tables whilst we were there but I assume they were all booked. We ordered two of the cheaper food items fish (I choose grilled) and chips with salad and the Guinness pie with chips and salad. This was washed down with a beer each from the tap. The food was typical pub food, ok but nothing standout. In fairness it was all cooked well enough but my fish just lacked a little flavour and looked rather anaemic for grilled fish. I was however told the Guinness pie was very good. Salads were well dressed but my chips were really salty, with salt and pepper on each table over salting the chips was not necessary. There is a reasonably extensive menu and of course a good selection of beers and wines. A big plus is the parking around the back. Pubs are battling hard to improve their fare and the Inglewood is no exception, I think they're doing ok and just a little more care with the finer details would make it a highly...
Read moreTwo-Star Review: Disappointing Visit to Inglewood Hotel My recent experience at the Inglewood Hotel was unfortunately quite disappointing, warranting a two-star rating. While I had hoped for a pleasant meal, a couple of significant issues really detracted from the visit.
Firstly, the service was quite rude. From the moment we arrived, the staff seemed uninterested and unwelcoming. There was a distinct lack of warmth or helpfulness, which made us feel like an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. A friendly smile and a bit of courtesy go a long way, and sadly, these were absent.
Secondly, the food portions were surprisingly small, especially considering the price. I ordered Sunday Roast, and while the taste was acceptable, the size left a lot to be desired. It felt more like an entrée than a main course, and I left still feeling hungry. For the price point, I would expect a more substantial and satisfying meal.
Overall, the combination of unwelcoming service and undersized portions made for a less-than-ideal dining experience. I hope the Inglewood Hotel can address these areas, as it certainly has the potential to be...
