Me and my friend always go here to catch up after a long day at work. Food comes out nice and hot, and the waiting time is standard. Sushi train is also enough to fill you up after 3 or more plates. I enjoy their coconut juice. It's the only drink I order. They have other selections but do not expect sophisticated cocktails. It's nice and casual.

This restaurant has a little bit of everything from Japanese, Malaysian to Chinese, and Singaporean dishes. If you are looking for a variety of asian cuisines, pay this place a visit.

Good for regular family dinners and casual catch ups, lunch, or somewhere to grab a bite that is delicious, but I wouldn't say palate blowing. Still, it is enough to satiate cravings for me.

Pricing is average. For 3 dishes and 3 plates from the sushi train plus 2 drinks, you will expect to spend at least $110.00. I would say $30-$40 per person, including drinks. In saying that, though, some dishes can be shared between two people. :)

For what this restaurant serves and the great hospitality service, this restaurant deserves a 7/10 overall rating. For pricing, I would say...

Tao is, without a doubt, our all-time favourite restaurant. The staff are always fantastic -- the whole crew are always super helpful, professional, friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable and hard-working. The food, however, is what really makes this place stand out.

Their menu features a range of Japanese, Thai and Vietnamese dishes. My favourite is the vegetarian Pad Thai and my partner raves about their chicken katsu curru and chicken teriyaki. But everything we've tried has been amazing -- not just good, but genuinely excellent. You can really tell that whoever's running their kitchen clearly puts a great deal of care into the food they're making.

The sushi train is also fantastic and always full of fresh, delicious options to pick and choose from. We often fill up just on sushi train options and we're never disappointed.

They also have a range of fancy French desserts that can be either ordered or just grabbed from the sushi train and those are all amazing, too. I really just can't rave about Tao enough.

5 stars and all of...

I have attended this restaurant several times and service this time around was absolutely terrible. I handed my order in and after a 40 minute wait time I asked staff how long my order would be as people who arrived and ordered after me had already received food. The waitress disappeared some talking happened behind the scenes and then never came back to tell me the order was forgotten. The fact that somewhere my order went missing as well as very little engagement from staff, Not following up with a customer as well as seemingly zero actual care for customers being in their restaurant judging by a lack of positive attitude (This has been present every single time I have been) suggests that the staff are not trained that the customer comes first. Nor are they trained to deal with an issue like this. I will not be returning again or recommending your restaurant until this basic need of any business is met. This truly ruined my night out and I got better customer service (and actual food)...

Tao Joondalup could not serve Japanese cuisine as pictured in their menu. The surf no turf is a rice free option but it contained rice. The beef and Salmon tataki were swimming in a fluid which did not resemble anything as described in the menu. The beef was topped with chopped raw onions which smelt off. The Siam Noodles chicken tasted suspicious and we ended up with gastro that night. Whitford Tao is far better as they deliver picture identical meals as their menu. see photos attached. $90 with entertainment card and still I felt ripped off. it was disgusting. when we complained about the raw onions on the tuna tataki, I was told it was garlic then it returned plain and bare. see both photos. vietnamese cook had her own take on Japanese food it was very wrong.

This place was very untidy outside and unkept, weeds and leaves not a good impression when entering a cafe. It’s the old Lonestar place, the old signage is still up. Be careful of the booth seats, they are old and not very secure. Prices are medium-high given they are not inside a shopping mall, it doesn’t seem to be good value. Even though the portions are large, the food was average, my pork was dry ($27). My son’s bao buns were a large size and so was his chicken Katsu. If you are on a budget, this place will set you back $75-80 for 2 people. For that price you can get ALL YOU CAN EAT at Wanneroo Japanese $39.99 pp.

The food is great, the service is acceptable but the restaurant is in need of some refurbishment. My biggest concern is the hidden 1.5% surcharge if you pay by card. Although it's not illegal to charge extra when paying by card like it is in other countries, it's immoral. The RBA guidelines suggest a 1.5% surcharge if you use a credit card to pay the bill but only 0.5% if you use a normal debit card..JTV Cafe charges the maximum amount of 1.5% regardless of the type of card used. It's for this reason, I no longer go there and recommend others to find somewhere else to go, which is a shame as I really enjoyed the food.
