Today myself, my missies, my brother in law and my sister took a well deserved and long awaited visit to Varsity Joondalup. We was greeted with friendly door staff and then got ourselves a nice table. Upon visiting the bar, there was plenty of drinks to offer on tap from Guinness to Gage Roads single fin. The Guinness, Heineken and Single fin were all good. We sat and took a look at the wide range of food to offer, including a separate Vegan menu to cater for all. I would of like to have seen some sort of garlic bread on the menu, but that’s just a personal thing. The food came in a timely manner and was fresh and hot. We got a selection of starters, including onion rings, jalapeño poppers and fried pickles. We got a selection of burgers and buffalo chicken wings, which where all juicy and tasty. I would of liked to get more than 3 jalapeño poppers but that’s just me. The table staff where polite and efficient, and plenty and relaxing environment. Overall it was a enjoyable visit to varsity joondalup, and I’m hoping to go back soon to try out some of there other food.

So have just experience what it is like to do an online order for pickup. Quoted 20mins for a pickup order which has been an hour and patiently waited. No fuss. No ruckus. Funnily enough drove from Alkimos because was told the service and food is not half bad. Waiting continued over an hour and still no service hahahaha. Online updates need to be posted if you want to run a business through a system like this otherwise it doesn't work.so finally the order comes no sorry 1hr 15minutes later asked if it had been sitting there long? Response I don't think so with confused expression on his face. I don't care how good your food is not even a sorry or anything is weak from any establisent. And below is how my burger came ......... Waited for that long no apology no nothing and they gave me a burger with out the burger bun. So that was the most unenjoyable experience at a food chain to date. Wow!!!!! Impressive work varsity 👍😊👍

My experience was an emotional rollercoaster to say the least. I was so excited when I saw that Varsity would be opening to show the rugby and wanted to try their burgers as I had heard so much about them. Ordered about three rounds of drinks during the first half. We wanted to get our food order in before the half time rush only to be told the kitchen closed 20 minutes after kickoff. No last order was called, patrons were not informed the kitchen would be closing. When I questioned the bar staff if they could serve alcohol without food service their solution to the problem was to give us a free round of drinks. When my husband questioned why the kitchen was closed they said not enough people were ordering food and the staff were sent home. Surly you would wait for half time before closing? We were so looking forward to trying the burgers. I think this is incredibly irresponsible!!

Ordered via Uber Eats, got a call from the driver that Varsity would not give our order as they didn't have a thermo bag. We said we didn't mind. Got another call from the uber driver saying Varsity didn't believe him and so I had to speak to them. The lady Hannah advised that it was protocol and they couldn't relapse our food but don't worry another driver will be there in 2 minutes to deliver our order that was sitting there ready. 40min later I called the store as we still hadn't received our food, only to be told that it's uber's fault because the 2nd driver cancelled. The manager Mark then told us it "wasn't his problem and I had to follow it up with uber". Could not believe the lack of customer service and lack of empathy/concern shown by Varsity especial in this climate! And when we, as the customer, said we dis not mind the food getting deliveres without a bag. It's now been over 2 hours waiting and we have no dinner and have been left to do all the refund chasing up ourselves with Uber. ...

Came here Monday night and it was FILTHY. Piles of food and rubbish on the tables. It had been raining outside and there was wet soggy food all over the tables and chairs.

I ordered through the app and wasn’t aware that burgers came with chips. I asked a staff member if the chips with my gluten free burger were also gluten free (would that not be common sense?) and was told they weren’t and that it was my fault for not specifying. The app doesn’t say that the burger comes with chips, so no option was prompted. I asked very nicely if my food could be remade as the burger was on top of the chips and I am coeliac. The bleached blonde staff member I asked scoffed at me and rolled his eyes. Not surprisingly I was extremely sick all night and the following day from cross contamination and I really wonder after the response I got from the staff member, if it was contaminated deliberately. I won’t be returning to Varsity and I’ll be posting on all of the coeliac and gluten free...
