L'Americano Espresso Bar — Restaurant in Western Australia

I’ve been here a couple of times and it presents as a lovely calm environment with an attached homewares and furniture business plus it is away from the hustle and bustle of the shopping centre. But….. the service doesn’t live up to the venue. Prior to today’s visit I came to have a late lunch and eat from their all day menu - only to be told at 2.30pm that the kitchen was closed and I could order coffee and cake. No thanks and that is hardly ‘all-day’. Coming today I decided to give it another go and see how things went. It didn’t go well. I was ignored for a good while and went to the counter to get some service. Only to be told that they thought I was waiting for a second person to join me. A clear way to check this would be to ask - rather than assume. In this place if you are a solo diner you have to pay when you order as you are deemed untrustworthy to pay after your meal. I saw four other single women dining alone in addition to myself - only one lady was exempt from this ‘rule’ while I was there. Staff were very nice whilst being served on the table. The food from the kitchen came out pretty quick. Coffees took a while as did the cakes. I would have thought it would have been the other way around. Coffee was a bit bitter. The lemon meringue pie was $2 more then the profiterole cake, I don’t understand why? The iced coffee was also bitter. The manager gave our friend extra ice cream because there was none (or very little) in the iced coffee, but it didn’t help with the bitterness. When we went up to the counter to pay the bill, I noticed one of your staff was on her mobile 😟 and we had to wait until she finished what she was doing before we could pay. Lastly, with the high price of your food and drinks, I don’t see why you should charge a credit card surcharge, it should be incorporated in your prices. Very disappointed in the service . I ordered my meal paid immediately as I was seated outside the restaurant My poached eggs were very runny quite raw , I had ti wait a considerable amount of time for someone to come out of the restaurant and when I pointed out my eggs , there was no apology, they asked if I would like two more eggs ? In the meantime the manager ( I gather ) came out serving someone and looked at me and said are you alright , I explained and showed him my eggs , he walked off , never said anything …. After a long wait , still no apology at all , they came back and served on a bowl two poached eggs … still no one has come and said is everything alright I find this very unprofessional and I’m not one for putting reviews up but I have been here for nearly one hour and find in a supposed to be professional place / restaurant they would check that everything is up...
