Lake Gwelup — Attraction in Gwelup

FAMILIES BEWARE - Brought my daughter to the playground and saw a large dog make a beeline sprint from across the field towards her. As it got closer I quickly picked her up and the dog then slowed down and retreated away. I know a lot of dog owners use the area in the open field and families use the playground so please be extra careful when you've got your little ones with you. The playground is around 250-300m away from the open field so the dog made an effort to run away from its owner towards my 2 year old and it was in an aggressive posture which caught my attention. An excellent place for walking and exercising. Nearly four KM tracks around the lake offer an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful scenery and see birds like duck, Ibis, Swans, Magpie, Wrens, Wagtail, Ravan, Cockatoo and a number of other species. The only downside is off lead dogs and irresponsible owners. The area is a touch snobby, so you get the cashed up bogans who don't pick up after their animals. But apart from that it's a great walk...
