I recently visited the Long Neck Public House with high hopes, only to be met with a mix of disappointing and mediocre experiences.
First off, I was served a cold chips The presentation was lacklustre, and the temperature was off-putting. Instead of a warm and inviting dish, it felt more like a leftover from the previous night. The flavors were muted and uninspired, failing to live up to any reasonable expectation for such a dish.
Next came the salad, which was severely underdressed. Salads are meant to be refreshing and flavorful, but this one missed the mark completely. The ingredients themselves seemed fresh, but the lack of dressing made it dry and unappetizing. It was as if they had forgotten a crucial component of the dish, leaving it bland and incomplete.
The only redeeming factor of the meal was the Parma. While it wasn’t extraordinary, it was at least decent. The portion was generous, and the cheese melted perfectly over the crispy breadcrumb coating. The flavors were well-balanced, and it provided a satisfying contrast to the otherwise disappointing meal.
Overall, the experience at Long Neck Public House was far from satisfactory. The cold ship and underdressed salad were major letdowns, and while the Parma was decent, it wasn't enough to salvage the overall dining experience. This visit left me with little desire to return...
Read moreEDIT: Thought I’d try again since I had to walk past to my gate, it’s now been 65mins and still no offering of a cooked meal. More staff required? Time management course required? Be interesting to see if this business is still operating in a fortnight
Arrived at Perth Airport Long Neck cafe at 8:30am, 2hours before my flight to have a relaxing breakfast and coffee, advised that ‘Chef is on break’ advised he will be back in 30min, no worries I don’t mind waiting It is now 9:15am, 45mins later. Went back up to the counter to order ‘oh sorry we can’t take your order and chef won’t do take away’ didn’t say I wanted take away. How long is a 30min break? Why advertise that breakfast is served until 11am, do you even offer a food service? I will be making regular fortnightly trips for the next 18months and I know where I definitely won’t be going. The only positive here is that the coffee is decent, it’s a shame I didn’t get it from Toby’s estate where they actually cared about their customers and served...
Read moreThis place is a joke. I don’t usually leave bad reviews but the staff here are inept; if I save one person from their incompetence, this review will be worth it. If you happen to be at Perth airport, save your time and sanity and make sure you chose one of the other 10+ places around to eat and drink! We waited at the till, right next to the barista, for a good 12 minutes with a queue of other customers behind us. I finally asked the barista if we were ever going to get served and she looked me straight in the eye and said “we’re taking orders from the other till” and pointed to a till to the right of us, only a metre away, with no one lined up at it. There were no “till closed” signs, no interaction from their staff and no regard for the 15+ people waiting patiently. She just grunted when I suggested letting people know next time. Lame experience...
