I decided to try this place tonight. Worst mistake of my life. I ordered the mild nasi goering. I double checked with the woman on the phone and specifically asked that it was not going to be spicy, mild. I was assured it was not spicy. As I was driving home I could smell and practically taste the chili. Just in the air in my car from having it in there. I hadnât opened the container yet and knew I should have turned around but I trusted that the restaurant got my order correct and I was almost home anyway ( I live 20 mins away from this place and didnât want this to be a whole ordeal. I just wanted to go home and relax after a very tiring 13 hr day at work. I began eating my dinner and within 3 mouthfuls I couldnât bare to eat anymore. This nasi goering was so filled with chili it was unimaginable how anyone would consider this mild in any way. I called the shop and tried to tell the lady, that my order was wrong and it was so spicy I couldnât eat it. She insisted that it was mild with no spice. After her being extremely rude to me for about 2 minutes. I ended up just telling her itâs clearly not mild so Iâm not sure what she wants me to do about it as itâs HOT HOT. She puts me on to the owner. I explained the situation to him again and he told me mild means spicy, there factory makes the sauce which contains chilli, they didnât add any extra chilli in which makes it mild. I told him itâs to hot WAY TO HOT and this man started screaming at me over the phone if I didnât want spicy I should have ordered fried rice. Iâve always been under the impression that Mild means little to no spice and I triple checked with the woman taking my order that it would have no spice. She assured me and certainly didnât tell me that I needed to order fried rice instead. This man screamed and abused me on the phone for like 3 minutes calling me an idiot because mild is supposed to be spicy I put the phone on loud speaker and handed it to my partner as I was almost in tears from being abused by this man that I had just bought an $70 dinner for my family from. As soon as my partner got on the phone and said we will be there in 10 minutes this man told us to get f$&ked and hung up the phone I was too shaken up to go back and get a refund. I thought this would be a nice quick easy dinner but I am absolutely appalled by the treatment from the staff. I really hope nobody goes here and experiences the same thing I had to go...
Read moreI recently ordered Noodle Box and was extremely disappointed with the experience. First off, the food was not wok-fried as youâd expect from an authentic Asian restaurant. Instead, we actually witnessed them just toss the ingredients around in a non stick pan on a heat plate. The flavors felt flat and lacked the smokiness and depth you get from proper wok cooking.
To make matters worse, the portion sizes have clearly shrunk. What used to feel like a hearty, satisfying meal now seems like a snack, and yet the prices remain the sameâor even higher. Itâs hard to justify the cost when youâre left hungry after finishing your dish.
On top of that, the spice levels are wildly inconsistent. One visit, your dish will have a decent kick, and the next, itâs completely blandâor unbearably spicy. Itâs frustrating not knowing what to expect from one meal to the next. I didnât even receive my correct order tonight.
Overall, the lack of attention to detail, the reduced portions, and the inconsistency in flavors make it hard to recommend this place. I wonât be returning...
Read moreFirstly, I have been a devote of Noodle box / Wok in a Box since well before the Canning Vale branch opened and have enjoyed, mostly the original menu, but never again. I understand prices have had to rise, but have struggled for the last few years to find value for money in your menu, hence my orders went from a regular dinner order, to an occasional order, but no more, your menu prices have now gone from the sublime to the ridicules. A simple Combination Soup (in a bowl that leaked all over my car seat and floor) for $17.95, considerably overpriced, but bearable, I asked for Extra Veggies $2.50, fair, but when you charge $3.50 as the âNo Carbâ option because I asked for no noodles. Come on, $23.95 for some broth, a small amount of protein, 2 prawns and some veggies, well you are just taking the micky. You have just lost a loyal multi...
