Oporto Balcatta Drive Thru — Restaurant in Western Australia

I'm not angry, I'm just disappointed.

Came back here on Saturday after a month had passed since our previous visit. Previous experience was pretty good, though we were given churros seasoned with chicken salt instead of cinammon. After this was noticed we called the restaurant back who advised we'd receive a complimentary churros upon our next visit.

Fast forward to Saturday night and the disappointing experience in question. Arrived at a time where dine-in was very quiet and there were no cars in drive-thru, placed my order, mentioned the manager's offer of complimentary churros, was given confused and blank stares in response. Even gave them my name and time of last visit to no avail. I was given the impression that it was too difficult for them to check their records to see if my story checked. To top things off the order took absolute ages to get ready, some cars had appeared in drive-thru after my order was placed and it was plainly obvious these orders were being prioritised over mine.

After getting home and opening the items, the disappointment continued. The bondi burger was poorly made, after unwrapping it it basically fell apart. In addition, the chips weren't very fresh and the garlic sauce provided appeared to be a small tub of mayo with coarsley chopped pieces of garlic in it.

Needless to say, it's disappointing when the best thing about your meal is your drink. Going to this Oporto is a bit of a drive away from home, needless to say I won't be coming back here...

First the good.

I've had the chicken here a bunch of times, and it's always juicy and delicious. The chips and the rice are decent as well.

Secondly the not so good.

Ordering at the drive through is a nightmare. I always have to repeat my order a few times, only to get around to the window and have them repeat it back to me wrong.

There just always seems to be some confusion surrounding what's included.

Add to this their baffling decision to only allow one size for chips in a meal. Sure you can get a large drink, but you have to buy a whole extra chips if you want more than the regular size. Maybe this is a company policy and not just the one store, but all the same it seems absurd.

The wait times here can be atrocious as well. Not sure what's going on at the grill, but sometimes you wait forever, which seems to be a common complaint amongst other reviewers here.

Long story short, I keep going back because the food is good, but man the service could improve.

Oporto Chicken used to be one of my old horns it’s time for a blast from the past in the form of a second dinner tonight ordering juicy jalapeno bites which have increased in size and come in packs of three they definitely pack a punch in flavour as well I ordered the crispy chicken strips as well this clear that this restaurant has taken on board value for money as everything has increased in size similar to the American approach to McDonald’s I’m not complaining it’s really healthy looking forward to coming back again can easily fit in a 1.75 meter vehicle in the drive-through and my friend also ordered five crispy chicken strips for first-time experience sources of mild chili and mayo I prefer mine without any sauce at all I’ll drink of choice was coke The whole drive-through experience took about 10 to 12 minutes at around 9 o’clock at night from our comfort point of you as a person in the back seat of a van there’s a lot of speed bumps when exiting the shopping...
