Lunch with a big group today. Just realised the 13 seats round table reminds me of King Arthur and his 12 Knights of the round table. Haha, no worry. Anyway, the pre-ordered almond chicken and Nyonya fish were very nice. Others fishes like Lanton sweet and sour beef, deep fried (daily home made) taufo, ginger chic ken, roast duck, Lohan Monk vege and fried okra, etc were all surprisingly nice. (2021-05-30)

The seafood egg sauce vermicelli was nice. The sauce was extracted from the cooking juices of fresh prawn, fresh squid and chicken. Vermicelli was pan-fried. The pan-fry is one of the five Malaysian methods of frying vermicelli. The texture and the feel while bitting it is different. The Kapitan Barramundi fish (1.3 kg), and fried sambal combination vege are popular here. Two Malaysian chefs and two China chefs give you the best dishes. (2021-05-26)

We tried Lou Han Zhai vegetarian dish that came with green bean noodles, hot plate sizzling Japanese tau-fu, sliced water chestnuts, baby corns, etc. It was yummy! (2021-05-01)

Lunch special: Fried Hokkien noodle, Lo-Bak spring rolls, and fried egg noodles were surprisingly tasty. (2021-03-28)

I wasn't impressed with the food here many years ago until tonight! Yes, the new Malaysian Master chef who took over this kitchen has given us the unforgettable three dishes. The dinner was complemented with free prawn crackers and oranges. With tea and steam rice, it cost us $62 or about $12+/person. We enjoy the cosy aircon, good environment and great food. BYO too! We asked for medium-rare beef with kailan vegetable, and it was so good. The mixed garlic vegetable was very flavourful and the tepanyaki Japanese to-fu was very tasty. What a peaceful night. I shall return...

This is one of our local Chinese restaurants and we dine there on a fairly regular basis. We have generally been very happy with the quality of the food and the level of service. Our experience earlier today, however, was horrendous. We went there for lunch, placed our order (for two entree soup dishes plus a main dish with rice), and after waiting for 50 minutes no food was delivered to the table at all. What irked us the most is that a big party of diners came half an hour after us, sat at the next table, and we saw one dish after another being served to them. I asked the waitress who vaguely explained the disparity in the despatch of dishes in terms of the "chef's priority". We were so disgusted that we decided we did not want to wait any longer and walk out. It is a shameful fall from grace for an otherwise good restaurant in our books. It also makes us wonder if the staff there have a tendency to prioritise bigger groups over smaller ones. We hope it is a one-off and that management will not repeat the same...

Recently ordered take away to pick up. Appreciate this was a peak time but very unhappy and disappointed with the quality of the food, service, and ambiance of the restaurant. I will not be looking to return and would not recommend. FOOD - Ordered two dishes with fried rice - both dishes were cold, Belachan was virtually inedible due to oil/grease, and Salt and Pepper Squid was soggy, tough, and even received pieces containing chicken and batter only. All very tasteless. SERVICE - telephone order taken and arrived at alloted time 40 mins later to pick up. Told not ready and would be with me soon. Food received 40 mins later with people arriving later than me receiving their order. When making complaint was told that food was delayed because of the time to cook vegetable dish and all was now ready. Took an additional 10 mins to receive. ATMOSPHERE - sections of dining area looked nice but take away area was cramped and disorganised. I had to stand right next a table that were dining which was a thoroughfare next...

Food was extremely delicious and affordable! The sweet and sour pork was delicious and not too sweet like most other Chinese restaurants make it. I also loved the Hokkien Mee with Pork Lard as it tasted like what I would eat in Malaysia and the amount of pork lard was very generous. I would definitely come back and try more food!

Really good value and pretty tasty Chinese food nestled in Winthrop. Their yang rim with seafood is pretty unique and nice 👍🏽 They give you sliced oranges 🍊 at the end of the meal which is a nice touch and well recieved. Probably one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area and will definitely be back 💯
