Check out their acceptance rate, graduation rate, and future potential network if you are interested in studying nursing in this public school. Well, you will struggle with finding the information, as it's not transparent to the public. It was to me in 2017. The history of the nursing faculty is relatively short compared with other nursing schools in Perth, I was told I was the third alumni. While studying for 3 years (Feb 2017- Nov 2019) of full-time nursing on the South St campus, I met a few amazing teachers, but some are not great educators, just asking and testing you, but not teaching well. During the last semester in the third year, my full-time study was just like Open Uni, which means online study. I attended the so-called intensive program, only a 2-day class during the 6-month semester. There was no interaction in person. Well, you will have a written assignment and evaluation on the computer. If you are born in a non-English speaking country, reconsider this learning environment. You need more physical exposures. Seriously, you won't get the necessary support when you get trouble during your work-placement practice. Be really cautious about the clinical facilitator you are going to meet. Don't get bullied by them or other nurses. This is my sincere advice from my traumatic experiences, and also, one of my formal schoolmates had mental health issues by the same clinical facilitator. My psychologist said, "Bullying is a trauma." I found the fact that the marking guide Murdoch University is different from Curtin Uni, nursing schools. Interestingly, Murdoch university facilitator can fail you during the clinical practice. I was failed twice even though I demonstrated all clinical skills and completed 120 hours in each placement. The failure with Registered Nurse Standards; one occasion, the facilitator made a marking that I was not independent firstly in Effective Communication, but she couldn't keep the reason as I displayed confident communication, so she raised another issue at the last days, namely, I was not independent in building Therapeutic Relationship with coworker. Because I asked my buddy nurse to supervise me in our area, because she left me alone in Critical Area, ED for many hours. Then the nurse reported the facilitator that I was rude. I was supported by university academic staff at all. Second, failing happened when my clinical facilitator belong to Sir Charles Hospital marked my clinical performances were not consistent, but he said my skill of having therapeutic relationship was very good. I made Appeal to the fails and formal Complaint about the facilitator and unit coordinator, it turned out dismissal after 4-6 months. My hubby and fiends said, "Murdoch has No Integrity or Justice." The university staff, including non-teaching staff and external providers did not take account for maintaining duty of care to take reasonable care for students during the work-placement learning. As you can see, you can be failed any time any where with the marking criteria. Please see two photos of marking sheets from Curtin Uni and Murdoch Uni I attached. Don't just accept their offer, please. The easy offer is not always good at the end. If you don't graduate or get the job, what is the point of studying there for more than 3 years and paying heaps of tuition? It was app $4000.00 for a semester as Aussie citizen. And be mindful of the payment by a school loan, Hecs Help. ATO and I found they double charged for a semester, and I had to show evidence for a refund. Pay your debt asap as there is confusion and a cumulative CPI interest. You won't believe this, before entering Murdoch Uni, I had wonderful 20 years experiences of nursing in S. Korea, Saudi Arabia and Los Angeles, but unfortunately not in Australia. I am proud myself as a nurse, and I love nursing, but my choice of continuous learning with Murdoch was wrong. Hey guys! Follow your dream with the quality of education. Cheers.

The marvellous Murdoch University!!! Where it all began, my mind opened as well as my heart. I began to see the world differently, have more understanding of culture & others. I became more progressive in my thinking about the world around us and how Australian academics can be the forces of improvement and change for our planet in all fields of study through commitment, determination and collaboration. Through my studies so far - The School of education has been amazing from my interactions with the beautiful Dr. Jane Merewether with her expertise in developing skills of togetherness, creativity & sharing through stories, the highly adaptable, progressive academic Kylie Ridder who strives for all students to succeed in assessment, to the Dr. Sian Chapman who pushes confrontation in areas of social justice & reform, the expressive and talented Dr. Amanda Woods-McConney who takes you on an adventure through her passionate love of teaching the Sciences, the soon to be Dr. Of Education - Felicity Baker with her desire to inspire education students in the classroom to be expressive, dedicate, love what we are doing and enjoy the experience & Dr. Sandra Hesterman, the well put together lady of Early Childhood Education with her inspiring academic papers of integration through children's voice. Today though, my experience was second to none when arriving at campus. Claire greeted me at student services where she was able to usher and direct appropriately my needs all whilst doing it with a smile plus giving knowledge of campus & international options to venture into, Charity was cheerful and put me at ease as I sat down to discuss my issues to direct me to the best able problem solver, which I was then delivered to the strategic Hannah who was able to think extremely logically keeping me in high hopes. Fiona was fantastic with her speed and efficiency with my Student ID needs and finally I would highly recommend going to visit Kylie in the Murdoch Campus library where she showed compassion and lent her time to hear my issues and logically stepped me through processes to get a resolution. Thank you again Team Murdoch 💪🏼👩🏼‍🎓

7 Sep 2024: I visited Murdoch University more than 10 years ago. Today, the buildings have had been renovated beautifully. The lawns are manicured and free from litter. The Art Gallery's artwork was impressive. Most of all, I appreciate the beautiful blossoms of flowers in the campus gardens. They are well maintained as before. I took many photos of the ornamental flowers this time. I have improved my photography skills and got a better camera. Two floral photos are attached for viewers with tips on photography: PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS ONE: Use TV Mode, as the flowers are swaying in the breeze. AUTO ISO. AUSTRALIA - 9 SEP 2024: 9.42am. I'm completing a degree in Chiropractic and it is horrible.

The lecture material is by far the worst. Learning objectives that help you learn? Nope.

Do they help you study and prepare for the exam? Hell no!

Do they hinder your every step, to make you feel lost and guess what you need to take into the exam, failing you on an epic proportion to be ready and confident? HELL YES!

This place is a living nightmare, I cannot describe in words how much stress this place has caused myself and many of my friends here doing this degree.

The lectures are garbage, think power point slides and the teacher just reading off of them for hours on end. This along with the lack of divided knowledge into what needs to be known and what is supporting information, there is nothing dividing these at all, it is just bunched all together.

So that combined with the weekly learning objectives being non specific you are going through constantly saying and asking yourself, is this important? Is this? Oh maybe this?

So when you make notes, you may as well just take a copy of the lecture slides, because apparently occurring to lecturer, EVERY single thing you could be examined on.

So by the end of the semester, that is 800 pages. And of those, any word, diagram and sentence, because again, no other direction is given.

So people end up just trying to memorize (which is an impossible feat) 800 pages worth of information or guess what they would be examined upon, because again, there is no other direction or way to do it.

And YOU (or I) am paying for this garbage? How did Murdoch even become accredited?!?!?!?

It is VERY obvious and unfortunately other students from other years have told me this, that there is an agenda to fail students and have them repeat because of multiple reasons.

  1. Failing students pay twice (or more times) to pass, Murdoch simply gets more revenue. And Murdoch's vice chancellor gets more money than other universities that even have more students (so already questionable tactics here).

  2. Failing the average white male to seem more in line with gender and racial fairness.

When in practice all number 2 does is pass females and minorities because the industry lacks them so Murdoch brags they are helping, whilst unfairly failing people that do not deserve it.

Equal opportunity should be a place in every aspect of life and Murdoch doing it this way is pure discrimination.

  1. Protects clinic numbers.

Because the clinic can only obtain a number of places each year, Murdoch already has a reason to fail x amount of students if the class sizes are too big.

They don't restrict class sizes, only the hurdle to get into clinic, again failing the extras.

Students have overheard teachers talking about who they are going to "cull" and it is again typically the white male that bears the brunt of this.

  1. If you need proof look at the media.

Murdoch has reached the news for already doing all this to a number of Chinese students (and are still doing it) who cannot even speak English at all!

Somehow these people cannot speak a word of English, rely completely on their phones translators and are enrolled in a University Degree that requires a high degree of English proficiency?

The news caught onto this and of course Murdoch denies it, yet I have neighbours down the street enrolled at Murdoch and cannot speak a word of English, so it is still happening.

So in conclusion, until all this changes (which will not be anytime soon) do NOT enroll at...

I'm not sure about other courses here, but Chiropractic has been an absolute nightmare. A special mention goes out to Dr Jean Theroux, who wouldn't know how to teach if his life depended on it. Proof of this matter is he got removed due to MASSIVE complaints and taken to the local radio station, only to be re-instated straight after the class that complained so heavily graduated.

Here is a tip for anyone thinking about studying at Murdoch (especially Chiropractic) , do not. Murdoch thinks learning objectives are "learn everything", I am serious, not certain functions, techniques, etc (although they are all included as well), just everything about everything oh and you can be examined on everything as well. I've been to four universities previously and not ONE is like this. They do it on purpose to make large amounts of people fail to have to enroll to earn more $$$.

Don't believe me? Just look at the Vice Chancellor, more money per student ratio than ANY OTHER UNIVERSITY in WA! Yes you read that correctly, more than the big and much more prestige ones.

Oh and staff have spoken out against this as well, guess what? They've been either fired or the ones who couldn't be fired (due to tenure) their departments completely closed.

Don't throw away your money on this university. The only reason you would quite literally go here is if you have an eidetic memory (the ability to vividly recall an image you are exposed to, but only briefly. For example, someone may be able to continue to “see” a picture they have been shown for 30 seconds, even a few minutes after the picture is removed) , because the way this institution RUSHES through way too much content piled into subjects (comparably other universities have this spread across 2 or even 3 subjects) with zero direction other than "everything", why would you do that to yourself?

I know people who have tried and literally committed suicide (I came close as well), Murdoch does NOT care about ANYTHING besides the $$$$.

Oh and another scandal was allowing international Chinese students in that had no basic understanding of the fundamentals to even pass subjects (such as needed English etc), Murdoch again allowed them in, failed so they would need to try again, more $$$.

This is all in the media, so feel free...
