Subway — Restaurant in Western Australia

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this experience was too frustrating to ignore.

Earlier Monday this week, during a local power outage, most restaurants including Maccas in Willetton were closed. Subway was open, so I ordered a simple salad and coffee before heading to work.

Unfortunately, their EFTPOS was also down, so they asked me to come back later to pay. I did exactly that, returned after work, paid in full and even reminded the staff to remove the payment note to avoid confusion.

Today, I received a call from them, accusing me of not paying. Not polite enquiry, just a rude accusation. I had to insist they check their CCTV and even provide screenshots from my bank to prove I wasn’t lying. Still no apology. No ownership of their mistake. Just cold, dismissive responses.

Came in with my vegetarian partner and ordered two footlongs - one vegetarian, and one not. The staff member labelled what was supposedly the vegetarian one, but when we returned home and my partner opened it and took a bite (she was super hungry, and we trusted the staff) she tasted bacon, and chicken. They've labelled the wrong one, and now she's throwing up and feeling ill. Incredibly disappointed with this, not to mention that the staff member also one gave us half of the promotional items (Fanta socks!) we were entitled to with our purchase and only gave us the second half of it upon return. I wouldn't mention that as it's own review as I understand mistakes happen and that one is so minor, but to give a vegetarian meat products is just unacceptable and more care needs to be taken by staff and management to ensure that doesn't happen again.
