Stumbled upon this place on a whim when the Burrendah Tavern was practically at full capacity! I've never been so on the fence about a place like this Thai Junction restaurant that my friend and I came to. Customer service was atrocious from a woman who I guessed could have been the owner. Slap a joyous smile on her face somebody please, she didn't seem to even be happy we asked for a table for 2! How dare we choose to eat there to cash up their till that little bit more! Perhaps should have paid money elsewhere where we would have been welcomed and appreciated. Other staff were polite, very shy, not real communicators. Cashier woman/potential business owner didn't speak kindly to her staff either. Onto the food... I usually choose a few dishes as a standard when going to Thai restaurants for the first time. I chose the Beef Massaman, with a side of rice. Whilst Curry Puff entrees and all other meals arrived, I had to head inside the restaurant to request rice as it didn't come out in a timely manner (restaurant was so busy, they probably forgot). Curry Puffs were alright at best. My friend thought her vegetarian Pad Thai tasted terrible and my Beef Massaman wasn't the greatest. Only found one single peanut in it but the flavour just didn't hit it for me. Not many Beef chunks for $24! Bit into a cardamom pod or something which spoilt the flavour of the dish at the end. My friend was handed a potato masher key to access a toilet not accessible via inside the restaurant and she didn't feel comfortable with that idea, so she decided not to access it but go elsewhere. The part I was not okay with was seeing a very young boy, one of the family, handing out food to a table of diners. A family business perhaps, but it's not professional seeing a primary school aged child awkwardly tilting a hot dish of food that customers have ordered to pay full price for. I don't know, just something didn't feel too wonderful with the overall experience of this place. Sadly to admit but a McDonald's cheeseburger seemed to hit the spot afterwards. Glad this place isn't "my local". 1 star only because the wait staff were pleasant. Ok, onto the next Thai...
Read moreWe have been a customer of Thai Junction for the past four years, frequently visiting with my family. My 6-year-old son is severely allergic to nuts, so we have always brought a nut-free chicken burger for him, with the restaurant's permission. This has never been an issue—until today.
Today’s experience was nothing short of horrible. Upon arrival, the waitress showed us to our table, and I politely informed her about my son’s food allergy and the necessity of bringing his own meal. Shockingly, she told us that outside food is not allowed inside the restaurant and directed us to sit outside. I explained that we’ve always been allowed to bring my son's food before, but she insisted on checking with someone else.
Another staff member from the counter then came over. After explaining the situation again, she allowed us to sit inside but insisted that we pay for the food we brought for my son. I stopped the conversation there and walked out. This is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. We have never been treated this way before.
The complete lack of respect and compassion towards the customers and they ruined our dining experience. I am deeply disappointed and will not consider visiting this restaurant again. Thai Junction, you need to do better in accommodating customers with specific...
Read moreAs a food enthusiast, I had the pleasure of exploring a remarkable restaurant that exceeded my expectations in every way possible. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the cozy ambiance and the decor that had intricate Thai details. The staff were incredibly professional, offering a warm welcome and a personalized service that made us feel right at home.
Now, let's talk about the food. I was blown away by the authenticity of every dish we ordered. The flavors were rich, complex and well-balanced, showcasing the chef's skill with Thai ingredients and spices. I particularly loved the Pad Thai, which was served in a traditional way with crispy bean sprouts and roasted peanuts. The presentation of every dish was impeccable, making each one a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds.
Overall, I would say that this restaurant is a hidden gem that deserves more recognition. It's the perfect spot for a date, a family dinner, or a casual night out with friends. If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience that combines tradition and innovation, this is the...
