Major health and safety warning - this restaurant is absolutely not safe for coeliacs or anyone sensitive to gluten. Ordered two servings of naan, one regular and one gluten free. The waitress brought them out in separate baskets and announced them as regular and gluten free, when I noticed that they looked identical and asked the waitress to confirm that the gluten free naan did not have gluten she admitted that the chef had âforgottenâ to use gluten free flour!!!! Yet they served it in a separate basket to the âregularâ naan and announced it as gluten free! When I explained that this is a serious allergy the waitress just said, âyes I know, but it just slipped the chefâs mindâ. I then explained that this would easily put somebody in a serious condition in hospital and she just shrugged. No proper apology, no offer for a refund, just a shrug! They clearly do not care about people with specific dietary requirements ( how you can call yourself a vegan restaurant when you actually have to REQUEST dishes on the menu to be made vegan, I donât understand) but they are willing to sell food they clearly know is loaded with allergens to a person who already struggles to dine out at a regular restaurant and would choose their establishment based on their promises of attention, all just to make a quick buck. Absolutely disgusted. Coeliacs and...
Read moreI appreciate this place for being vegan, I've defended it many times before, but I've had a few bad experience myself now so I'm changing this 5 star review, to a 2 star instead.
If you're gluten free, be very careful. They don't seem to actually understand gluten free. The chefs also dont speak or understand English. The other staff were having to translate, which if you have food reactions, isnt safe. One time you're told something is gluten free, the next time it's not. I can't risk it anymore.
My order has been incorrect about 3 times.
I've nearly been over charged about 3 times, check your bill.
What is with playing TV shop channels whilst people are eating? And many times there has been 1 song track on repeat the entire hour I've been there?! (At the same time as the TV shop channel). This happens too often. I don't understand why this is the norm here. It's very odd and annoying.
It's such a shame because the food itself is actually really nice and I want to support a vegan restaurant, but these are such basic things that they fall short on.
So in summary: If you're not gluten free, then go ahead and eat here! But check your bill, ask them to turn the TV shop channel off, ask them to take the 1 song off repeat before it drives you mental, hope your order is correct, and you'll have a good meal, maybe,...
Read moreI found this place online and didn't check many reviews beforehand- I was in a rush. I really wanted to like this place because it promised a huge variety of vegetarian/ vegan options and the waitress who answered the phone had lovely manners. It took about 20 minutes which was fine. The flavours of the food were pleasant, notably the samosas. I didn't find the food remotely spicy which was a shame, perhaps I was meant to tell the waitress I wanted more heat although she never offered for any of the curries and the conversation wasn't rushed. Unfortunately everyone including myself found all the curries far too salty, now usually I'm the kind of person to add salt to my meals but this was a tummy-sore, overbearingly sodium drenched experience! None of us could finish our curries (even though we were still hungry) because they were so incredibly salty, we joked the chef had managed to accidentally drop 1kg of salt into all our curries at once. Not only that but we were overcharged as well :( I really wanted to like this place. I don't know if I'll be back when there's other great...
