Look, anyone who doesn’t like salt and hasn’t actually been to Spain may very well enjoy this dining experience - although if you are conscious about social distancing, then don’t go here as you will probably be literally rubbing shoulders with the diners behind you. The girls serving actually were doing a great job of keeping things moving and keeping an eye on their customers, so I have nothing to say about the service which was good for what I’d expect in a mid-range eatery of this sort in a bustling night life district. The food on the other hand, unfortunately was at best mediocre and at worst pretty poor, with the honest actual standout being the house bread with olive oil and px vinegar. The Sangria wasn’t Sangria (unless you ask a 13 year old who’s never made it to have a go at putting together a fruity wine drink), the croquets could have been anything, although the chicken & jamon were the best of a bad lot, the pork belly was truly awful, and most of the other dishes, while well conceived were really poorly executed. Also I’m suspicious that there is a relationship between pinchos and the local distributor of rocket because every dish pretty much has rocket sprinkled all over it or in it, and I’m equally certain that there has been a falling out with the local salt distributor, because many dishes were ruined by not having any salt, which is a cardinal crime for calamares (which were fresh and would have been excellent with salt and without rocket) and for the Cod croquettes - same story.
There is no question that the ideas for the dishes are good. I think the majority of the ingredients are actually high quality and the restaurant isn’t skimping on the produce. But whoever is preparing the majority of the dishes has no love of Spanish cuisine or just doesn’t care as long as the dishes are pumping out quickly enough with enough rocket to hide the...
Read moreMet some friend for dinner their last night 14/12/23. It all started off well with receiving our sparkling water and from their it all went down hill. After we had ordered out drinks we ticked the sheet that we had to ask to be taken from us. Before we received our drinks our first lot of food come out. Always a good start when drinks are ordered before the food but the food comes out first. We each ordered out own wine by the glass and a cocktail. You would hate to want another drink or even be offered a drink as this did not happen. The last bits of our food arrived. You would expect that being it a tapas share style venue that they would provide some kind of serving utensils with your food. In todays world of germs Ide hate to use my cutlery that has been in my mouth on serving the food... (disgrace) As we sat on the most uncomfortable metal chairs outside and with now all our empty plates and our empty glasses , we had to ask for the bill. The waitress came down asked if we were splitting the bill and took off to get the credit card machine. No clearing of plates or glasses just grab the machine and take our money. She plonked the machine on the table and then said tap here and walked off. So it was like do it all yourself while I go do something else. We paid our three ways on the machine got up al walked out. I spoke with the manager on duty and really he was not that interested in what the issue was apart from a sorry. I would stay away from this place unless your happy to serve yourself and then pay for what you had yourself, and sit on a dirty table full of dishes while you maybe try and order another drink. There are so many places in Leederville now so I would choose Kitsch Asia, Duende, The Garden, Six Senses...
Read moreIf you're looking for a restaurant that takes responsibility for their mistakes and provides a genuine apology for a negative dining experience, look elsewhere. My husband and I had a terrible experience at Pincho's for my birthday on January 21st, and the management showed zero remorse for their shortcomings.
Upon arrival, we were seated in an area with inadequate airflow and heat emanating from the kitchen, despite requesting a table with good air flow. When we asked to be moved, the waitress promised us a high table outside and mentioned it might have to be shared. We agreed, hoping to have a special dinner for my birthday. However, within five minutes, the same waitress seated two strangers with us and walked away with a nonchalant apology. This ruined our evening and made us feel uncomfortable and rushed.
When I reached out to the restaurant via email to share my experience, the owner, Donna, showed no empathy and instead attempted to place the blame on me for not mentioning it was my birthday. Donna also trivialized our request for a table with good air flow and attempted to justify seating us with strangers on a small table. The owner's response was disrespectful and demonstrated a lack of concern for customer satisfaction.
The food was great, but the service was lacklustre and the management's attitude was unacceptable. To make matters worse, the staff slammed the food plates on the table, which was unprofessional and rude.
Overall, I do not recommend dining at Pincho's. The management's lack of concern for customer satisfaction and failure to take responsibility for their shortcomings is unacceptable. There are plenty of other restaurants that value their customers and provide a positive...
