The Pearlers Rest Family Restaurant Karratha — Restaurant in Western Australia

We had a reservation and when we walked in there was a girl sitting in the booth they had reserved for us so they made her move but then didn’t say that we could sit there and I got confused about where we were sitting. When the lady behind the bar finally told us to sit down in this manky booth with the cushion falling off I felt like leaving but we were hungry so against our better judgment we stayed. We got given the menus then we got ignored for at least 20 mins. After we ordered the oysters came out first which also took about 20 mins. You could tell they were frozen, the presentation was messy and the sauce had leaked all over the plate. They weren’t that good. We also had to order the drinks at the bar which was annoying. We waited over 30 mins for our mains to come out, my friends fish looked terrible, over cooked and wasn’t fresh, the chips were also over cooked and oily. My chicken salad was tiny and just thrown on the plate, the chicken tasted nice but it was cold. They probably made it then cooked the fish and left it there getting cold and stale like how I was feeling after waiting and hour and a half for this average over priced food. After waiting an hour for our mains, our kids were starting to fall asleep at the table. So we asked if we could just get the rest of our food to take away. Rather than tell us that they had stuffed up and forgotten our order they made us wait another 30 minutes. I'd had enough at this point and went to pay the bill so we could leave only to be told our meal was being put in the bag right now. I paid the full bill and then had to wait another 10 minutes for our order to be given to me. Got home (less than a 5 minute drive) and found our order consisted of a supposed medium rare steak that was raw and still cold in the middle, spaghetti marinara that had great big claggy lumps of cheese in it and was made with cheap supermarket packet spaghetti and bbq ribs the were basically the most sub standard I have ever eaten. Threw the lot of it in the bin and went to KFC for a better quality and better value meal that was served by a 15 yo with better customer service skills than the staff at Pearlers Rest. Lying to your customers about their order just to screw a few extra dollars out of them is bad enough but serving raw uncooked food is the type of stuff that the health department needs...

Been living in Karratha for over a decade and have been here twice, maybe three times. The food is disgusting truly. The Pho - has zero taste and due to the rare beef it just tastes like blood hot water - seriously! The "thai" green curry is a Chinese slapped up sauce with thick cornflour - horrid. We had other food as well but absolutely disgusting. We put all our food in a container for our chooks and thought we'd ring to say it wasn't great food. The owner and chef were so rude. I drove back in with the bucket of food for my chickens as they wanted the food back for a refund. Was so embarrassed walking in with a bucket of chicken food scraps. They did refund our money.
