Martin Place Cafe and book lounge — Restaurant in Wollongong City Council

My friends and I arrived at Martin Place Cafe on Saturday morning at midday to have coffee before going to Anita's Theatre We were rudely told that they close at midday. I had arranged our trip to Thirroul from Windang. I felt sure that they were advertised as closing at 2pm. I had tried to ring this cafe twice during the week and no one answered. I was told not to try and leave a message as the messagebank was full. This was very disappointing as all the rest of my arrangements worked out beautifully. We came here once a fair while ago with our friend’s son, 3yo and the guy behind the counter told us kids weren’t allowed in the big room?! That’s beyond rude IMO, we should’ve left straight away. Amazing space and atmosphere. Great works of art on display and beautiful flower arrangements. It's very European and atmospheric. The burgers are very tasty and the coffee is good. Martin also does jazz nights on Fridays. We really enjoyed the evening and the jazz band was very enjoyable. Will definitely come again and spend more time in this amazing place.
