Definitely worth checking out!
I rang the day before a planned catch up with friends to check if a booking was required. The staff member who answered the phone could not have been more friendly and helpful!
When we arrived the next day we were greeted by a very pleasant cafe with indoor and outdoor seating options. The rear of the property has a very comfortable and relaxing alfresco area with more protected seating out front.
We had no trouble finding a table and settled in for a long lazy brunch.
Two Mountains offers an all day breakfast selection and seperate brunch and lunch menus. Both have a good range of options including veg, vegan, sweet and more hearty fare.
The service is walk up to order and coffees and food are delivered to your table. The staff mirrored the great service I experienced on the phone the previous day and were super friendly and helpful.
We ordered coffees to start and the Toby’s Estate beans were skilfully turned into delicious cups of coffee which went down a treat!
We ordered from the brunch menu. I chose the Dukkah Scrambled Eggs. These were cooked perfectly with a creamy texture and Arabic spice that played well off the subtle egg flavour. The cheese that was added was your basic cheddar which I thought was slightly out of place; maybe a Persian feta would have complimented the theme of the dish better, still, it was delicious!
My dining partners ordered the Open Rye and the Vegetarian brekky. The Open Rye consisted of a poached egg, salmon, tomato salsa and capers on rye bread. This dish was presented beautifully and tasted just as good. The poached egg cooked perfectly and the capers and tomato salsa adding some dynamic flavours.
The vegetarian brekky had a great selection of treats able to satisfy even a meat eaters brunch hunger. Another well prepared runny poached egg with sautéed mushrooms, avocado, corn fritter, tomato salsa, wilted spinach and two slices of rye. This was a very satisfying meal.
Overall our dining experience was great! Friendly staff, good coffee, well considered food at a reasonable price and very pleasant atmosphere have Two Mountains earning five stars from our group.
I will definitely be back to sample some more of their delicious food and maybe try the intriguing “old fashioned coffeetini” I saw on the menu but wasn’t game...
Read moreThis is our second time visiting this place, but the first time we have got more than coffee and cakes, and our first time sitting in.
Quite a few problems here. Firstly, although the girl serving us was lovely, the food was unbelievably slow to come out, the place was nearly empty and it took nearly 30mins for the first of our meals to come out, a bacon and egg roll. Of the 6 of us eating, not one of our meals was served at the same time, which meant we all ate and finished individually before the next one came out. One meal was wrong and had to be returned to the kitchen despite specifically stating we wanted spicy elements left off when ordering. We ordered bowls of chips, only to be served ramekins of chips which would be no bigger than a side serving with a meal…yet we were charged for “bowl” sized, and these took over an hour to come out.
The food quality itself was average, and that’s being pretty generous. The servicing sizes are small, and the prices are high, so the value for money is quite poor.
Finally, as we were sitting by the kitchen, we noticed a worrying amount of microwave and air fryer use. Again, paying the prices we did we would have hoped for better.
All around our experience was disappointing, with the only exception being the lovely girl who served us. We will...
Read moreI can't say enough good things about this cafe! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The decor is charming and cozy, creating the perfect ambiance for a relaxing coffee break.
The coffee here is exceptional, and I'm quite the coffee enthusiast. Whether you're into espresso, cappuccinos, or just a classic drip coffee, they've got you covered. The beans are clearly high quality, and the baristas know their craft. It's evident that they take pride in every cup they serve.
Now, let's talk about the food. Their pastries and sandwiches are a delightful accompaniment to the coffee. The croissants are flaky and buttery. I've tried a few, and I'm yet to be disappointed.
What sets this cafe apart, though, is the friendly and attentive staff. They make you feel like a regular, even if it's your first visit. The service here is top-notch, and they always have a smile on their faces.
Overall, this cafe is a hidden gem, and I can't recommend it enough. It's the perfect place to unwind, catch up with friends, or simply enjoy a great cup of coffee. I've become a regular here, and I'm sure you'll...
