Saffron's Milkbar & Deli — Restaurant in Wollongong City Council

Went in for a milkshake today to order a strawberry milkshake. It was delicious, but every sip I took had this weird clump of thing that looked like wax. I asked the lady what it was and she said it “Oh, they are macadamia’s, there’s macadamia’s in the vanilla sometimes”. I just went along with it, but in reality I could tell she used macadamia icecream instead of vanilla. She never told me she would give me a milkshake with macadamias in it while she was making it, and if I never pointed out the nuts than I would never of known. What if I had a nut allergy? I would of had an allergic reaction if I was allergic, as she never checked with me to see if I was anaphylactic. I ended up going home with the shake and grabbing a strainer to remove the nuts from my shake, as having unexpectedly chunky nuts in a shake isnt very satisfactory. I AM UPSET. I took me and my boyfriend here for our date today, and we left, with him in TEARS and me close to it. We ordered fries with our burgers, at first everything was great! Lovely staff and friendly faces! HOWEVER!! As soon as we're digging in to our fries... a hair. Now, this wouldn't normally bother me, a hair could be anyones'! I, upset, moved on. THEN, when I bit into my burger, the inside was raw. I could practically hear the cow crying. It was DISGUSTING! Not only should a restaurant cook their food COMPLETELY and PROPERLY but they should have their cooks tie back their hair. To top it all off, when I went to order a milkshake... IT WAS CHUCKY! I am genuinely and thoroughly appalled. So is my boyfriend. Saffrons Milk-bar and Deli RUINED our date. I have never felt more betrayed by such a (normally)...

This was the rudest service I have ever received. Comments like "you're a tourist" and "you should see us at night" were uncalled for, and when I politely asked for another side of chips, I was met with a flat "no." Who does this guy think he is? The customer service was beyond obnoxious and disrespectful.

To make matters worse, the staff member arrogantly claimed to be "the best in the area for food." No, thank you. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. If you’re considering visiting, save yourself the trouble. Paying customer here...

Zero out of ten stars. Avoid this place at all costs. Chips aren't even that good...
