Upon walking in its lovely, there's a kids play area, a water feature wall and lots of seating. However upon going inside we noticed all tables had reserved signs, so we found a table outside, went in to order and I asked which kids meals are freshly made and I was told none except the bolognese (i seen this at another table and looked like plain pasta with passata so not what id class as a bolognese or a fresh meal) I hate places like this because not every kid likes bland frozen food, I asked if I could get an adults meal in a kids sized portion and was told no, I have to order an adults meal if I want a freshly made meal for my 8 year old so thats what I did. The food was ok, the salad was very sad 2x quarters of cucumber and 1 half cherry tomato and some mesculin and that was it, not even dressing. The snitzel was a little smaller than im used to from pubs/hotels but it was nice, parmigana wasnt great usually i usually love a parmi from places that sell pizza because theyre usually the best but not in this case, it was bland, chips were ok and gravy was nice, cheesy garlic bread i feel was a very small portion for the price compared to other pubs/hotels ive been too, salt & pepper squid was abit different had pork crackle vibes and again salad was non existant just green leaves nothing else. I went to order a jug of coke and the syrup ran out half way through so server kept filling and made me pay for it, she'd half filled it with ice so by this point it was a very lighr brown colour, I questioned her on it and she said "ill have a look" she left me there at the bar for at least 10 mins, in this time other bartenders were using other postmix hoses and they were working fine, she finally came back and filled a new jug for me, she also commented on how she knew it was out but kept filling it up anyway thinking "itll be right" now I personally think she should have used the other postmix tap and then filled up the syrup rather than making me wait so long and then she wanted to charge me again, I advised id already paid and can show her my internet banking if she likes to which she declined but the whole thing just made me feel frustrated, I had a little baby outside waiting for a feed and did not expect to have to wait so long for a drink... then it came to leaving and the tables are so close I couldnt even get my pram out! I thought this would be a really lovely lunch out where i coild just relax but I just left feeling sad & exhausted by the...
Read moreAs a non-local, we found the atmosphere and establishment to be excellent however we were very disappointed with the food. The prices indicate quality but are more likely to reflect quantity. The portion was great but the quality was poor. We ordered the parma which is usually a safe bet but was found to be very dry and ordinary. The peri peri chicken was nice as a simply cooked chicken, unfortunately if there was any peri peri sauce or seasoning it would have taken Indiana Jones to discover. Liam Neeson would have allowed this dish to be kidnapped. Unless they offered free drinks we'll try the next joint on the list. I hate to think they get the numbers through the door purely from the childrens playground which is well equipped but completely unsupervised by other parents so give your kids a Rocky-like pep talk before they enter. UPDATE: We gave the place another chance and turned up on Saturday night for dinner. We found the food to be much better; ordered the garlic baguette and fried squid for starters, turned up quick and both were excellent. For mains we had the bbq prawn salad, lamb ragu pie, chicken pappardelle and chicken tenders. All were delightful and were ready in a very reasonable time considering how busy they were. I have updated my rating to reflect this. Distinct differences between the two evenings, take from this...
Read more(Stephen Fry impersonation) My dear culinary connoisseurs, allow me to wax lyrical about a dish that has quite stolen my heart, the lamb and onion jam pizza. The mere mention of it evokes a symphony of flavors that would make even the most discerning palate sing with joy.
Let me begin by extolling the virtues of the lamb, so tender and succulent, it melts in one's mouth like butter on a hot day. Paired with the subtle sweetness of the onion jam, it is a match made in heaven. And yet, this is only the beginning of the symphony.
The crust, my goodness, the crust. So thin and crispy, it provides the perfect foundation for this masterful creation. And the cheese, oh the cheese! A harmonious blend of mozzarella and feta, it adds a delightful creaminess that perfectly balances the savory and sweet notes.
With each bite, one is transported to a realm of pure gustatory bliss. It is as if the gods themselves have descended from Mount Olympus to bestow upon us mere mortals this gastronomic masterpiece.
In conclusion, my dear friends, the lamb and onion jam pizza is a triumph of culinary artistry. It is a dish that will leave even the most jaded foodie feeling like a starry-eyed child on Christmas morning. So do not hesitate, go forth and indulge in this delectable delight, you shall not be...
