What a wonderful hidden gem !! Visited here for the first time, was greeted very pleasantly by staff and shown promptly to our table.
The restaurant is very clean and tidy, has a nice ambiance, and not overly noisy even when full. The menus are inside old vinyl record covers which was quirky but original.
Tables are fully set in traditional style with real napery and multiple course silverware, and corresponding glassware. It was a very nice Change to see these traditional formal table settings.
A Little bowl of baby breadsticks and nice cold table water was served upon sitting. Our Order was taken, drinks came immediately and entrees arrived approximately 15 minutes later. Dishes were cleared and table was adjusted for main course. Main courses arrived approximately 10 minutes after entree, and table was immediately cleared again.
Ordered coffees and a dessert platter and once again the table was adjusted for service. Every single staff member was properly trained in full fine dining service and I couldn’t fault anyone. I applaud this restaurant for providing such quality service, especially the younger staff.
The food itself was all prepared and presented well, in true Italian style, everything was flavourful and delicious, handmade pasta, and steak was prepared exactly as it was requested.
The coffee/ cap was excellent, rich and bold in flavour with foam until the very end ,the dessert platter was plentiful and very well presented; it contained 3 delicious desserts, tiramisu, crème caramel, baked lemon lime cheesecake, it also contained a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream, fresh strawberries, blackberries, amoretto biscuits, honeycomb pieces, various little smears of caramel berry etc sauces, all of which were home made.
Again the table was cleared immediately upon finishing.
Overall an excellent dining experience, I would return and I highly recommend...
Read moreOVER PRICED & UNDERWHELMING Entrees Garlic bread: Burnt & dry Bruschetta: Chopped tomato on lightly toasted bread, no basil, no oil, no seasoning, I had to ask for salt & pepper so I could season it myself. Stuffed eggplant: Absolutely delicious!
Mains Tagliatelle Oso bucco: Pasta was fresh & al dente but the sauce was very watery & lacked flavour Chicken stuffed with provolone cheese & a white wine sauce: The chicken was tender & tasty. Pork fillet: The pork was cooked well & the sauce was nice but the three pieces of pork were tiny & served on little pieces of crusty bread? I've never been served meat on bread that way & it seemed to me like it was used to pad out the meal.
The chicken & pork were served with a nicely cooked baked potato & tiny portions of zucchini & red cabbage (like sauerkraut.)
All of our mains were luke warm. When this was mentioned to the waitress she stated, yeah & said she had to yell at the kitchen staff to do our order???
Dessert Tiramisu: Decent sized portion but lacking flavour. Creme Caramel: Beautifully presented but tasted more like a baked egg custard. Chocolate Fondant: Over cooked using extremely bitter chocolate. No one at the table wanted to eat it. Orange cake with chocolate sauce & ice cream: A tiny, thin slice of cake which was passable when eaten with the icecream.
Drinks Home made lemonade: Delicious Dry red wine by the glass: 125ml exactly! We had to take tiny sips to make it last while eating our mains. It was nice though.
Service The service was great, even though our waitress made a couple of unorthodox comments about the kitchen & other wait staff.
We won't be going back to, or recommending this restaurant to anyone. After reading such good reviews it was very...
Read moreNeed some dinner on the long trip back to Newcastle and was searching for somewhere on the Central Coast. Across the road from the Wyong train station @Ostamano menu had me at suckling pig. It was amazing! Tender succulent pork with rendered fat, rosemary, soft vegetables made for a hearty Italian meal.
"Skinny people get kidnapped. Have some dessert." - was written on the blackboard! I don't need an invitation and the raspberry semi-freddo with chocolate sauce, shortbread, honeycomb and salted caramel made for a lovely combination. The refreshing raspberry flavour shone through the delicious semi-freddo. While I love chocolate I don't think it's needed. Lovely textural elements from the shortbread cubes, bits of honeycomb and the meringue. The salted caramel provides a contrast to the raspberry. Awesome meal enjoyed in inviting surrounds and friendly staff to boot.
