We stopped in for brunch on our drive back to Melbourne from Summernats in Canberra. The staff were friendly, welcoming & very helpful. The food was delicious & care was taken to avoid dairy on my meal. The menu is very clear & carefully lists (most) ingredients, so I avoided the avo toast because I wasn’t sure if feta was in the avo or could be left off, so I ordered something that I thought was easy to leave dairy off, because it was busy & I didn’t want to risk any reactions on a long drive. The chefs did amazing!! All our meals looked & tasted amazing. The big breakfast is indeed big! The breakfast wrap was also bigger than most I’ve seen in other cafes. Your Saturday Barista Queen rocked & the coffee was also great!! Thank you for delicious nutritious on our road trip, definitely want to come back again. Sorry I didn’t add photos, everything looked so good we couldn’t wait to start eating once it arrived & once we began we couldn’t stop for photos, it was...

It took 15-20 minutes for the coffee and it was burnt.

When I ordered the avocado toast, the cashier asked me how I'd like the egg on the toast - I was surprised, as the menu hadn't mentioned an egg. I thought I better ask the cashier if there was any cheese on the toast too, seeming as this menu was proving incomplete.

She said there was no cheese. The toast showed up with two eggs and was covered in feta cheese. I mentioned the issue to the server and she brought out the receipt to challenge me, declaring that I hadn't asked for "no cheese". Thankfully after explaining the situation, she brought out a revised version.

Can't they just have a menu that gives complete details about what people are getting? This is the best way for people to handle allergies and portion sizes.

There was no salt and pepper available, which was a shame.

The décor included generic American imagery rather than...

Do not order the Reuben sandwich. It barely resembles one. The filling was terrible and completely inadequate in so many ways. American cheese, why???? Perhaps the sweet and fatty sauce in it might suit you. I guess because it was made with turkish bread, I should have known better than to order this, I was just hopful it would be half decent. The staff who I spoke to were friendly and very helpful. This, unfortunately, is a little overshadowed by the unfriendly barrista who did not seem to want to be there or engage with customers. The coffee was just ok, thankfully I just had a sip from my wife's cup 🤫

I should have asked for a refund and not consumed this truly horrible dish. Hope they remove it from the menu or get it right. It's not hard.

A big star each for the two staff I engaged with....

I really enjoyed my lunch at The Yass Cafe in mid-August. I had a chicken schnitzel, which was nicely prepared and there was a mountain of chips as well as a fresh salad to top it off. We got chatting with the owner, Prem ( I hope I have that right). He is originally from Nepal and has made his home in Yass. He is a really lovely guy who is very proud to be the custodian of a bit of Yass history. He was explaining how a number of old-time Yass residents like to reminisce to him about the history of the cafe. He appreciates the history so he loves the bare brick interior because he believes that shows the character of the building. We also had a lovely coffee that Prem provided. A lovely man, serving delicious food in a friendly atmosphere. Definitely worth dropping in for a coffee or a meal.

Yass Cafe is an absolute delight! During our 3-night stay in the area, it became our go-to spot for breakfast and lunch, and we couldn't have been happier. The food was fantastic, and the customer service was truly five-star. Our kids were thrilled with the delicious offerings, making our experience all the more enjoyable. It alleviated any worries about where to dine during our campaign in Yass. The inviting atmosphere and consistent, warm hospitality make Yass Cafe a must-visit for anyone passing through. Highly recommend stopping by to indulge in their delicious fare and experience the top-notch service – it was a definite highlight of our stay!
