Positives: Dog-friendly (water bowl provided) and nice decor with greenery, food Negatives: Waiting time for food, service, errors

4 of us (and a dog) drove from Mel to Syd. Seating at the bar was predominantly reserved due to it being Christmas Eve however we did get a seat, though it was in direct sunlight.

Person that took our order was not attentive and seemed quite abrupt. Ordered 3 lemon lime bitters, chicken tenders, pulled pork sliders and 3 pizzas. Lemon lime bitters were delivered to the table next to us and somebody took a sip from one of the glasses. When the waitress realised, she did not check whether anybody had taken a sip and moved the 3 glasses to our table. When we pointed out that somebody had taken a sip from one of the glasses, she got us another one.

Chicken tenders came out and when the waitress was putting them on the table, one of them fell on the floor. Our dog quickly ate it, and though the waitress apologized, she did not replace the chicken tender.

Pizzas took almost 35 to 40 minutes to come out. They were quite good but a $25 price tag...

I too copped the big red headed guy a previous reviewer mentioned. Maskless and scoffing a donut while standing behind the service counter. Certainly needs to complete a course in customer service ! Ordered 2 coffees and after 10 mins, went back inside to see how my order was going. There were no other customers and 3 staff members all standing, chatting in front of the coffee machine and my order tkt just sitting on the machine. Asked for refund and went elsewhere. The locals might accept this sort of poor service but if you're from a bigger town than Yass and passing through then I'd strongly advise giving this place a miss! At 5 bucks for a coffee, you'd expect a far better...

We arrived on a busy Friday evening. We had luckily booked a table. We found our table but nobody told us if it was table service or what. No menu, no wine list. Eventually we realised we had to go to the bar. I was then given a menu but no wine list. Eventually after much confusion on our part we had to join a long queue to order. The food was very ordinary when it did arrive. There is a sign outside that says it has local wine but there is nothing on the wine list to indicate that. I will say that the band were excellent & the atmosphere of the place really good. All in all rather disappointing really. Not sure I would go back if I was...

Not worth it. The drinks came out so far apart, that mine was half finished. There were only 2 of us. The sardines were bland and tasteless. And they were served in their tin...Really Saving on washing up??? The meatballs were dry, but the sauce , was a saving grace in an otherwise hohum experience. Will never go back. What about bar codes, clearing plates, not drinking behind the bar and ignoring customers. The policy of ordering at the bar and lining up outside the door is bloody ludicrous. The wait times are appalling. Just don't bother. It's a shame , perhaps they rely on their evening monopoly.

The food and wine was fantastic. However, my experience was ruined by the staff and the apparent price gauging as we are not locals. It’s easy to get away with it as it is one of only a handful of venues open. We were overcharged a total of $12 on four drinks. The menu has a Gapstead Moscato @ $7 a glass yet we were charged $10. When questioned about it, the response was “all Moscato’s are $10. The menu is wrong!” Then when we asked to have a Brown Brothers Moscato instead, the response was “we are out of stock.”

Yazzbar is definitely one of the hidden gems Yass has to offer! From the street view you wouldn't expect this cosy bar to open up into a beautiful and spacious courtyard! The staff was friendly and made the time to talk about the local wines and the food was absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend visiting whether you're travelling through town or live in the area 🙂
