Yass Railway Museum — Attraction in Yass

We were pleasantly surprised by the amount there was to see and the freedom to explore so many well-preserved train parts along the tracks. The toy train play area set up for young children is so considerate and that collection was just as impressive as the historical elements, right down to the dated suitcasea on the luggage trolley. Small museum with limited exhibits. Great for families but museum conisuers will find it lacking.

I asked the only volunteer I could find at the time about the museum and his knowledge was limited. The only other one was disciplining children on the model ralilway section which was not only awkward but uncomfortable.

A Sunday arvo visit after a picnic with smaller children. We were welcomed by the volunteers in the old station and were able walk around the various engines and carriages while getting a real hands on experience. The kids loved it.
