Lutter & Wegner Bad Gastein — Restaurant in Bad Gastein

Friday 30-08-2024 I visited this restaurant at 10 am I met one waitress she was not happy to see me I asked for an Ice cream the I asked her if I can eat dinner she said they are open at 6 pm she was not very nice at the beginning I asked her to bring the bill for me to pay by a credit card she said come inside and pay !! Then I paid and left I came at 6:00 pm she said all table reserved I saw some table at the view is reserved but 2 table are not she guided me at the last table near the toilet entrance I set then a man brought me some bread and I ordered my food this waitress was very rude and disrespectful as I have asked her if I can change my table after a couple of costumer left she no wait here a she brought my dish set it at the table looking away i can here the dish sounds slam at the table I set quickly I finished my food and asked for my check to pay she did not bring the machine to me to pay I entered the restaurant and asked het may I pay she entered 3 payment method the she said choose the tips you want to pay I told you didn’t treated me well as other I felt she was a racist truly heart my feelings as I came like others wanted good food with good service I hope her boss see it as she was very bad image to the restaurant. I came with my family two parents and 4 kids at 8 PM just two hours of closing time and the restaurant totally empty and free of tables only two tables outside occupied, the waitress there ask us do you want to eat or drink coffee, actually I came for just take coffee and some snacks but Im not sure about my family maybe they will order something to eat if they find something interesting in the menu and Im not sure because we are new and didn’t see the menu yet and she ask us before we even set then I told her for coffee because I don’t know what they are serving , she gives use one table near the exit door , and there are more than 10 empty tables on the restaurant and it’s only remaining two hours for closing time I ask here nicely but she refuses to let as set on the table inside at the terrace its really strange and we left the restaurant , I have visited many countries, but I am surprised how tourists are treated this way، money not everything, Sustenance comes from God...

We had the trout and the steak. The steak was a bit on the medium side, I prefer rare but still nice and tender though! Well thought out dish. The trout was excellent, with capers and almonds which really added some flavour. Well thought out menu, nice service, great view. Only remark I have, something they often do in restaurants outside of Belgium and which frustrates me: they give you some tiny appetizer and bread (which you didn’t ask for) and then they charge you for it. I honestly don’t understand this practice and it’s especially annoying because me and my travel buddy don’t eat bread. So we end up paying for nothing.
