Oh well this is gonna be an interesting one to me...
The place is rustic and that means artificially rustic, but in a good way. Here and there you can see through the typical "Skihut" atmosphere and actually get a glimpse of the kitchen and the staff doing their best (to me that's a plus). But then there is this thing, however well they are stocked in the kitchen, the servers are definitely understaffed. I was sitting at the bar for 35 minutes before somebody took my order. To my left a couple has finished their meal before I even came in, they are still waiting to pay. This at least gave me some time to observe and the area that is handled by a single waiter is immense! 60+ seats maybe even more. But I am wondering (as a non skier myself) wouldn't this be something that pisses you off? You get here for a quick lunch and the amount of downtime you get is impressively high. I know that I am starting to grow impatient... And my only plans for the day are to chill and relax and take a walk though town.
(I learned why this is, Skilifte are closed Alla round due to weather, place is unusually packed. Still this only gives me little to no comfort)
Update: 55 minutes into the adventure, let's grab a quick bite. Jeaaaah my Cola has arrived! My soup must be in the making, but assuming the observed speed... It'll be a while
Update: 65 minutes, food arrived and is decent. My wish to directly pay has brought forward some nodding which I assume is a yes
Update: 88 minutes. I was wrong! All tries to pay have been ignored. The couple next to me managed to pay, they are free, I am stuck.
Update: 90 minutes. I have a plan, I will pay, somebody in this place will take my money and I will say thank you. Somehow I will free myself!
Important!!! To me this is not the fault of the staff! They stay friendly and professional. It is not the fault of the kitchen either. It's the stupid idea to offer more seats than you can serve... And that...
Read moreMy family just got denied service here. It was 7:10PM on Monday 2/19/2024, raining outside. We came in, the place was maybe 80% full. We waited to be seated, the waiter was busy so we waited patiently without rushing him. Two other parties came in after us. The waiter finally came, ignored us, attended the two bigger parties standing behind us. Felling strange, we waited till he came back and asked for a table for 4 (in English). That was the first time we spoke. He said “reservation only”. I really doubt it as I didn’t see him asking for reservation information on the other two parties. Read moreThis year we visited this restaurant for a second time only to find out that the waiters were deliberately overcharging us for dishes we didn’t even order. It was deliberate to the extent that they didn’t bring the bill first and only gave when I asked. I was there with my and a friends family. The first time they overcharged us by 35 euros and second time by 15 euros. Both the times we gave a tip of 7%. We noticed the second time and then had a look at the previous invoice also to find out that the waiters overcharged us. Owners should have a careful and deep look at this as this leaves a very bad impression of an otherwise wonderful restaurant with good food and music.
