I rarely write reviews and only take time to do it when it was either exceptionally good or bad. Unfortunately this was the latter. This review is intended in the first place for the owner and and secondly for Gault Millau, because both are making unforgivable mistakes.
For the owner, you are clearly under staffing the restaurant leading to a horrible customer experience. I'll llustrate it by giving several examples. In only 4 disches several mistakes were made (eg: hamburger was ordered without onion and tomato, both were present and the cucumber we asked for was missing, on the pizza we asked for addition of gorgonzola which was missing nevertheless it was not missing on the bill). The glass of Chardonnay we asked for was forgotten when bringing the drinks and when you charge 15 Euro for glass of Chardonnay I think it's a bare minimum to show the bottle when you bring the glass to allow the customer to verify that he actually got the 15 euro wine he ordered. The same mistake was repeated when brining the Blauburgunder of 12 Euro. Getting the bill was also a challenge but no longer a surprise as getting attention from the personnel that was rushing around the restaurant was not easy. To our surprise they also "forgot" to deduct the mandatory deposit of 200 euro. When mentioning this two different people of the staff actually told us we should have mentioned our deposit in the beginning, giving us the feeling we actually did something wrong. Strange if a deposit is mandatory for a booking that you should remind the staff of this prior to your meal (in another restaurant in Ischgl this was in any case not an issue).
For Gault Millau, I don't understand your scoring of 14/20 and would even consider it being close to a "fault grave" for a restaurant guide. None of the core elements of a good restaurant experience were present: tasty food (4 dishes we ordered were mediocre), great service (not friendly, no time, not paying attention, blaming) and a pleasant location (overcrowded, noisy). I've also been in the Winestubbe in Ischgl which was rated 13/20 by your guide and was on all 3 levels at least 3 to 4 points better. I count on you for good restaurant recommendations but you let me down seriously this time. I strongly recommend to revisit this restaurant multiple time
To end on a positive note, the staff worked extremely hard and Blauburgunder of Mazzon you serve by the glass is a wonderful wine. I hope this review will contribute to a better experience for...
Read moreDo not go here to eat or drink, I can’t recommend this at all. We had group of 12 people, and 4 of us had already eaten their food before others got their own. Service was poor and waitress did not smile once to us or show any signs of being friendly.
We ordered few gin tonics and whisky sours as aperitif, and whisky sour tasted like orange juice and it did not had foam or decorations at all. Waitress did not remember who ordered what and just gave drinks to the table.
Eggplant lasagna was really small, just eggplant cheese and tomato sauce for 22€. One of us ordered 250g filet of beef (53€) as medium and it wasnt medium at all. Steak was so thick that it would have required sous-vide or oven to get it medium, but this one had just been on the pan for few minutes.
We also ordered 2x Chateaubriand (109€ each), one medium and one medium well. Other one was almost well done. No salt or pepper and not much taste. 2x gin tonics was 34€ in total which made us think how much air or bullshit there was in the price tag, or then 0.25l Fever tree tonic bottle is 8€…
When waitress came to ask if everything is ok, we complained about the over-cooked and dry pommes frites, and asked if they could have some solution to make it up, but nothing was offered. I’m glad I did not break my teeths when biting those french fries because it felt like eating an aluminium ski pole (actually ski pole would have been softer).
757€ for 12 people with only main course, few aperitifs, 2x bottle of cheapest red wines from the menu (65€ Rioja) is such amount of money that you would expect to get at least decent service and all orders correctly (they also forgot one beer and it was hard to get their attention when that beer never came).
What a tourist scam,...
Read moreWe were in this restaurant today. The food and the drinks was very delicious and the first waiter was polite and nice with us. But after him we got a new waiter with a long beard. He was nice with everybody except us maybe because we spoke English most of us are speak only English and after he heard it he gone unpolite. I’m a waiter too and I never experienced such an arrogant, unpolite and rude service ever. First I really liked the place, but after him I will never come back to this place again. Just to tell some story. When we finished with the food I’m just sitting before my plate he came and just nodded to me to give my plate to him. I should mention that my plate was really close to him…. After we asked for the bill he came and dropped the bill on the table and turned around. We said we want to pay with card then he only said “komm” we followed him after this nice “statement” we said we want to pay separately. We said him that we weren’t pleased with him but we were pleased with the food so we want to give tip to the kitchen. First he said give it to him, but when we said we want to give it directly to the kitchen he just nodded again right to the kitchen. I really hope the management will recognise and replace him. He doesn’t even deserve to work onward in the...
