Hostaria Kitzbühel — Restaurant in Kitzbühel

I took my family to dinner at Hostaria to celebrate our last night in Kitzbühel. The experience was underwhelming. Even though we had made a reservation, we were not acknowledged when we arrived and were left unattended in the entrance for over 10 minutes. Once seated, the service was horrible. The menu displays an extensive variety of pizzas. When my daughter asked for one, we were advised that it would take over one hour until the ovens were ready. This was at 8:30 in the evening. Main courses were delivered before others had their appetizers. Drinks were forgotten. Once our main courses were complete, we were completely ignored. 45 minutes passed without being asked for desert, coffee or additional drinks. We had to chase the waiter down in order to get our bill. And he was perplexed as to why I asked for change instead of leaving a tip. I eat out a lot. This was a poor experience. Edel elegant eingerichtet und doch gemütlich, leider viel zu wenig Parkplätze direkt am Lokal, in der Nebensaison ist das kein Problem, in der Hauptsaison wird schon ein kleiner Fußmarsch notwendig. Personal freundlich, bei der Zusammenstellung der Speisekarte wurde an kleinere Kinder nicht gedacht (es gibt nicht Mal eine Kugel Eis als Dessert), sonst ist die Auswahl durchaus interessant und umfangreich, die Preise sind ebenso wie die Portionen groß, der Tintenfisch vom Grill schmeckt hervorragend, der Rohschinken ist von exzellenter Qualität, die Pizzen sind gut (warum keine frischen Champignons verwendet werden bleibt rätselhaft), Nudelgerichte und Rinderfilet tadellos, Fisch und Meeresfrüchte könnten frischer sein, waren aber noch okay. Nicht zu rechtfertigen sind die langen Wartezeiten, obwohl nicht wirklich viel los war. Wenn man auf das edle Ambiente verzichten kann gibt's in Kitzbühel Italiener wo man mindestens gleich gut ißt und weniger zahlt. Fazit: man kann hin gehen, muss...
